Challengers: Kim Tae Woo, Wheesung, Hwanhee, K.Will, Im Tae Kyung, Lee Hyuk, Lee Jung, Lee Seokhoon.
This episode is Immortal Song 2's Summer Special where they invited 8 of Korea's top male vocalists to compete. They are singing songs from the 100 Top Korean Traditional Pop Songs, they're very old songs so it's interesting to know how they will change it to fit today's music. It's also cute seeing Kpop's best getting nervous and even the comments from the idols from previous episodes that the PDs inserted fit quite well and came out funny. ^^
1st is Lee Seokhoon singing "Spring Days". He did really well. What I like most is that he sang it so passionately that I felt like I'm watching a movie and this song came at it's most dramatic scene. =)
2nd is Hwanhee and his song of choice is "Reed's Love" made into R&B/Jazz/bossa nova. Like he said, the arrangement is like a song you'll listen to while drinking wine.
3rd singer is Kim Tae Woo with the song "The Girl in the Red Heels". He stick with the original swing version but made it faster and added choreography which made it more fun. ^^
4th chosen is K.Will with the song "Tears of Mokpo". He used the song's meaning and sang with all that sadness and agony.
5th singer is Im Tae Kyung singing "The Camellia Girl". He's a musical actor and a tenor in the popera or crossover genre. He performed it the way he knows best, the opera way.
6th is Lee Jung singing "Green Grape Love". His version is acoustic and he sang while playing the guitar too. It's very mellow and relaxing to listen to.
7th singer chosen is Wheesung singing "The Man in the Yellow Shirt". He changed almost the whole song including the melody and lyrics because he wanted to try something new. Even if the song turned out really good, I still think he should've kept the original.
Last singer is Lee Hyeok singing the song "Moonlit Night of Silla". He made it into rock version since Norazo is a rock band. I'm not really a rock fan, but I have to say, he did an impressive performance.
