K.Will won two weeks in a row but this time, he's singing first, will his luck continue?  ALi haven't won for a long time so she's very determined to win this time, she gave an all out performance and the audience loved it!  Trax being a rock band performed a strong rock number.  Shin Yongjae did a dance performance and Lee Haeri with a sexy performance. =)

Looks like Shin Yongjae took Lim Jeonghee's place in always getting picked to sing first. =S  I sure hope he won't be picked first next week, he's a really good singer and deserves to win too.  Lee Haeri sings with so much emotion, reminds me of how Kang Minkyung sang the song she first won in.

Huh Gak and Yongjae meets again on stage, and they're keeping count of their wins so who will win this time? ^^

Poor Yongjae, I didn't notice before that he actually haven't won yet because he always get picked early. Huh Gak did a samba version of the song, I'm happy to see that he's trying out different things on the show. ^^

[Variety] Immortal Song 2 - Episode 25

It's the King of Kings Special. The line up are all previous winners of the program, and they will compete using the song they sang on the time they won. I'm excited for this episode because I'm looking forward to seeing the previous singers of the show. ^^

Kim Gura and Moon Heejun are picking the match they wanted most to see, it's Hyorin and ALi, a battle between two strong performers. Also Huh Gak and Min Kyung, since it's her last stage on the show, everyone wishes that they will hug on stage finally. =P

Huh Gak's winning song is "All Things" by Songgolmae. He sang it rock this time and his vocals are flawless and he even added some b-boy moves in the dance break. I just wish he did some jumping too to make it more fun. =)

ALi chose to sing "Dawn Rain" by Hye Euni among her 3 winning songs. She made it into a dance song with full choreography. Dancing is not really her strength which I think is why she wants to challenge it more.

G.O.'s winning song is Kim Suhui's "I Can't Forget". I love it when he said he missed Jaebeom the most, their friendship is so cute. ^^ I personally love the smooth jazz feel he put into the song. =)

Hongki's winning song is "The Man From Shinsadong" by Ju Hyeonmi. He's performing with his band again and they made the song into a classic band ballad that turned out really nice.

Hyorin chose her first winning song which is Shim Subong's "The Man From Back Then". She did it exactly the way she does best, sexy with strong vocals.

Min Kyung's winning song is Kim Kwangseok's "Knowing I Should Forget". It's her favorite song which I think made it more meaningful for her and it shows in her performance. She really put all her heart into the song as she sing.

Jaebeom's winning song is "Please Don't Change" by Nam Jin. He sang it in his own style which is hip hop and R&B. It sounds really good and he did great adding the dance, but sadly I don't think the older generation will be able to relate to it.

Kim Gura is saying that the show made a star out of ALi, just like Hyorin who they also helped made more popular. I'm glad the show is helping the good singers in the industry to be known, because more often than not, they're the ones who get over shadowed by the more popular idols.

Woo Hyun improved a lot but his vocals is still quite weak compared to the strong singers but I'm happy he's working hard. Min Kyung gave a surprising sexy performance. And it's Jeong Hee's last stage for the show so she gave it her all and even cried because of too much emotion she poured into the song.

Huh Gak so cute when he asked Min Kyung for a cheer and she willingly gave it with full smile. ^^ And we get to see yet another rival round for Huh Gak and Shin Yong Jae. =)

Huh Gak said that he would want to sing before or after Min Kyung to get to hug her since everyone else have hugged her at least once. LOL! XD But too bad that fate is playing with him, Kang Min Kyung's name came up right after he got eliminated. =(

ALi is doing a dance because she noticed that most of the winners in the past weeks danced and made it to the final round so she's challenging it this time as well and she did great! ^^ I'm glad to see the seniors so supportive of Woo Hyun. He's a good singer but the like of ALi and the others are just too strong for him to compete vocally. I hope he understands that stage presence also counts a lot and not just his voice so he should make use of that advantage that he has of being a dance singer. =)

Hong Kyungmin won't be singing this time but will be co-hosting instead. To sing in his place is FT Island's Hongki. =) As always, ALi came dressed for the stage, Min Kyung looks like Boy George according to Gura, LOL! XD And Huh Gak prepared a dance! ^^

Hongki came performing with FT Island members again. =) I can really see Woo Hyun working hard every week because he really really wanted to win at least once but he haven't been lucky in the past. This time he prepared a cool choreography while singing. He's a dance singer for a reason, it's what he does best and he did great. ^^

Huh Gak did great as well in that dance performance. Who would have thought that he can do a handstand just like the young idols of today. =)

I think everyone prepared a lot in this episode. The performances are not just singing but stage presence as well. ^^ I never would've imagined Shin Yongjae will choose to dance. =) Woohyun invited another Infinite member, Dongwoo to perform with him.^^

Hong Kyung Min sang "Love Too Painful, Wasn't Real Love", a straight forward title to a song and according to him, it taught him a lot about love. 2nd song chosen is "A Private's Letter", 3rd is "Around Thirty", 4th is "Those Days", 5th is "Knowing I Should Forget", 6th is "Even Though I Loved You", and 7th is "Where The Wind Blows From".

Kim Kwangseok's songs are like stories of life itself. People can relate with the lyrics and he sang it in a very natural manner, just like singing in any ordinary day, which I think what made them so popular and loved by Korean music lovers.

The love line between Huh Gak and Kang Min Kyung that Gura is trying to create is so cute. ^^ Huh Gak is obviously smitten with Min Kyung and Min Kyung did say in the previous episode that she likes chubby guys. =)

Infinite's Woo Hyun's voice is sweet and nice to listen to. Compared to ALi and the others who have strong vocals, he still has room to develop his voice. But I like that he works hard in his performances and he seems to be enjoying the stage. ^^

The show got a new line up, looking at it, it seems that they can't get more idols to join so they made the singers they invited in the vocalists special join the line as well. I thought this show was initially made to take away the notion that idols cannot sing. And I do believe that best example is Hyorin who really proved to everyone how good she is, and she's probably the one that most benefited from this program as well. =)

I always find it funny how everyone's so happy every time the first singer is announced except the one who's called. =P I have to give it to Woohyun and Raina for braving it out there competing against such strong vocalists. =)

It's the 2nd round, the winner of this round will compete against the winner of the first round, Lee Haeri.

Im Teakyung's vocals are really amazing, he's not feeling well that day too.. an opera actor indeed. =) Ko Yujin is also a voice major and I think it's fitting that he went agaisnt Im Taekyung too, 2 great vocalists. 4Men's Shim Youngjae is only 22 years old? He's the same age or even younger than the most popular idols today. ^^

Joohee did her own version of "The Beauty", the song was also remade by the Wonder Girls and called it "Me, In" in their Wonder Word album (and I'm still wishing that Wonder Girls will perform that song live, Ye Eun did an amazing arrangement on the song). Lee Seokhoon on the other hand focused more on the song's story and letting the audience feel every word instead of going for vocal techniques.

14 proud vocalists are competing against other with the theme, 7080 Big Match. They are competing in 2 rounds, with 7 singers each round. The audience will vote again between the winners of the 2 rounds to decide the final winner.

All 14 singers are very nervous when the 1st singer is being announced, going first kinda guarantees that you'll not win since you'll be forgotten along the way. How unfortunate for Lim Jeonghee to be picked 1st again just like the before in the female vocalists special.

Singers for the 1st round are Lim Jeong Hee, ALi, Lee Kichan, Lee Jung, Jang Hee Young, Lee Hyuk, and Lee Haeri.

It's sadly the last episode for 5 of the singers and only Huh Gak will come back next episode.

1st - Huh Gak with "If I Had A Lover". He made the song into a fun and cherry version with melody that's easy to follow.

2nd - Hyorin with "A Kind Heart". She performed the song with strong vocals and very sexy choreography.

3rd - G.O. with "Aching Heart". He sang it full of emotion, like he's really in pain. Seungho even came to cheer on G.O., supportive leader. =)

4th - Jaebeom with "Please Don't Change". He made the song into smooth hip hop version with impressive dance moves. I really like the chorus, cute! ^^

5th - Kyuhyun with "With My Love". He's doing a dance version of the song. We get to see "Dance-Kyu" doing a Michael Jackson. ^^

6th - Jiyoon with "Once More". She wrote her own rap into the song which talks about a guy who cheated on her before.

The Rival Match this episode is pretty interesting, it's "Dance vs. Ballad". =) Hyorin, Jaebeom, and Jiyoon chose dance, while G.O., Kyuhyun, and Huh Gak chose ballad. They're also given the choice to pick their own songs that they think they will do well in.

1st round - Hyorin vs. G.O.

Hyorin chose "My Name" by Boa. She's a really good stage performer, the song has dance from start to finish which she did really well, plus she's also singing live the whole time.

G.O. chose "Back To You Again" which he sang with full emotion. I'm not familiar with the song but I can clearly see that G.O. poured out so much feelings in singing the song. Really great!

2nd round - Jaebeom vs. Huh Gak

Jaebeom chose "Look Back At Me". I think he really put everything he does best in this performance. He sang R&B style to control his vocals, but danced full force in the dance break and even adding b-boy which he does best at the end. ^^

Huh Gak chose "You Are The One For Me" to showcase his vocal range. He has a very pretty voice that fits ballad so well. This round's voting depends on personal preference because I think both did very well.

3rd round - Jiyoon vs. Kyuhyun

Jiyoon chose "Coming Of Age" which is a very popular song back in the day. She's not one with very strong vocals but she gave her best in this performance.

Kyuhyun chose "A Study Of Memory" with her sister in violin. He performed the song with an orchestra accompaniment that blends well with his voice. The ballad singers really belt it out to compete with all the dance the dance team did.

Jaebeom won in the first competition so he got the chance to choose when he wants to sing. To the surprise of everyone, he chose to sing first! It's the first time that anyone chose to sing first because going first makes you most nervous and give you the least chance of winning. But being the cool guy that he is, Jaebeom chose to go first. =)

1st - Jaebeom singing "Happy Day" in the version he's most comfortable with, R&B. He added some rap in English as he usually does. Pretty nice version. =)

2nd - Jiyoon singing "The Clown Laughs At Us". She did a great stage with full choreography. I notice that her voice has become stronger and steadier. Her vocals still has room for improvement but I'm happy to see that she's doing her best. =)

3rd - Hyorin singing "Too Lonely To Dance Alone" in another sexy and powerful performance.

4th - Huh Gak singing "Dancing To The Rhythm" making it into a ballad version.

5th - G.O. singing "Tonight" in a very nice Jazz version. I'm surprised with his voting results.

6th - Kyuhyun singing "The Masquerade". When I saw Kyu with dark eyeliners, I'm really curious what he prepared. It's a rock performance and it's great! ^^

Theme for this episode is "Summer Vacation With Friends". The challengers are paired up with another celebrity for their performance. They're going with the rivals method again by internet voting on who will go against whom.

1st round - Jiyoon vs. Huh Gak

Jiyoon with Gong Hyeong Jin are singing "Life Is". They rock the stage with the rock version.

Huh Gak with Lee Si Young chose "One And A Half" and went for the cute concept. =)

2nd round - Kyuhyun vs. G.O.

Kyuhyun with Kim Min Jong singing the song "With You". Super Junior helped Kyuhyun with the choreography to make it more fun and I think it really worked. ^^

G.O. with Cho Yeo Jeong chose a very fun song, "Let's Go On A Trip". The couple look is cute.

3rd round - Hyorin vs. Jaebeom

Hyorin with Hyun Woo chose the song "Don't Leave Me". They both sing quite well but they have trouble with their harmony. =S

Jaebeom with Solbi, Kim Soo Ro and Jang Hyuk singing "Tell Me". It's really nice that Jaebeom's seniors came to help him out. It's a really fun performance. =)

[Variety] Immortal Song 2 - Episode 11

With the new challengers came a new rule, the winner from the preliminaries can choose when to sing during the performance, unlike before that they will have to decide beforehand. I wish they just took the rules from the preliminaries, the "rival" method. I think it's more fair to choose a final winner from the 3 who already won.

1st singer is Jaebeom to sing "Yearning". He looks like he's loosing his mind on the way to the stage, LOL! XD It sure is nerve wracking to be the first to sing, and it's his first time in the main competition too. He changed the song and made it into R&B, it's actually pretty nice. I think Jaebeom may be one of the weaker singers of the list but he makes up for it with his passionate performance.

2nd picked is Huh Gak singing "Sorrows". I'm kinda glad the new challengers got picked to sing first. His version is very emotional, like a drama ost. But the choir in the background made it sound like a church song, I'm not sure if they go together. =S I didn't get to watch him in Superstar K, but I guess his strong point is singing ballads? He's really good at it.

3rd is Hyorin with the song "The Seoul Woman". After losing for a number of weeks straight, she went back to what she does best, belting it out with her powerful voice and matching it with energetic sexy dance. =)

4th singer is Kyuhyun with "Too Much". We know his a very good singer but his throat is in a very bad condition on the day of the competition so he's struggling with every note as he sings. I think he still did quite well.

Jiyoon chose to sing 5th with the song "The Southbound Train". She went for retro dance for her version and it's pretty cute. ^^ I think what she improved on in this show is she's opening up her vocals more now.

Last to sing is G.O. with "I Can't Forget". He haven't won yet so like Hyorin, he just go for his strengths. The song sounds jazzy with nice band accompaniment, and he depended mainly on his vocals for this performance.

The summer specials are over and their back with 3 new challengers, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Jaebeom and Huh Gak. The first challenge is "Old and New Idols Joint Performance". They invited 6 first generation idols, Moon Hee Jun, Son Ho Young, Kan Mi Yeon, Goo Jun Yeop, Hong Jonggu, and DJ DOC to sing together with the current challengers. They're performing by order of "rivals".

First Round - Hyorin vs. Huh Gak
Hyorin and DJ DOC sang "Love is Still", it's fun and Hyorin fits right in with the guys.
Huh Gak and Hong Jonggu chose the song "What I Wanted From You". Huh Gak's voice goes from soft to strong with the high notes, nice!

Second Round - Jiyoon vs. Kyuhyun
Jiyoon and Goo Jun Yeop chose "I", a really popular song back then, with full choreography. They sure worked hard for that number.
Kyuhyun and Son Ho Young is singing "Lies", took out all the rap from the original song and made it into R&B. Kyuhyun sure is one of the most popular Super Junior member, foreign fans from the audience even stood up to cheer for him. ^^

Third Round - G.O. vs. Jaebeom
G.O. and Kan Mi Yeon are doing "Killer", turned it into latino and added ballroom dancing to it.
Jaebeom and Moon Hee Jun sang the very cute H.O.T. song, "Candy". Hee Jun and Jay are both cracking me up with their humor, lol! XD There sure is a reason why you need 5 people to sing that song. ^^ I think what gets Jay misunderstood a lot is his carefree attitude, he doesn't hide his awkwardness under a smile and just acts cool about it. But I hope he'll smile more, he sure looks a lot better showing those pearly whites. =)

It was the male vocalists special the previous week, so this time, 7 of Korea's top female vocalists will compete. They'll be singing songs by Shin Seung Hun, Korea's King of Ballads.

1st singer picked is Im Jeon Hee singing "For A Long Time Afterward". She sang with G.O. before in the duet challenge so she had already experienced singing on that stage but it still makes her nervous being the first one to sing.

2nd is Gavy NJ's Jang Hee Young with the song "'Romeo and Juliet". The song is originally upbeat, she sang it starting with more jazz feel to it with her sweet voice, I'm loving it. =) Then she made it more upbeat and dance using stronger vocals.

3rd singer is Davichi's Lee Hyeri to sing "Somewhere Only A Little Above". She just acted in a musical so I think she's singing it with as much passion as a musical actor.

4th is Rumble Fish's Choi Jin Yi with "Reflection of You in My Smile". The song is originally very sweet but she has a very strong voice so she made it into something you'll hear in lounges or bars.

5th chosen is Lyn with "Oh My", another upbeat song. She's been singing for 11 years but she's still so nervous that she threw up before her performance. I like the rhythm of her version, it's very floaty and fits her voice perfectly.

6th is Seo In Young singing "Just Like The First Impression". She doesn't have the finest vocals among the 7 singers but she really worked hard on her vocal techniques and style and even added choreography.

Last to sing is Dana with the song "Don't Make Me Cry". Dana has a nice singing voice and the arrangement of the song is not bad too. I think she just lacks a bit of dynamics in her singing style.
