[Variety] MBLAQ Hello Baby - Episode 4

The appas went to ask an expert's advice to understand their children better.  While the appas are answering questionnaires to see their parenting skills, the kids went with the teacher to play.  Using dolls with their pictures, the teacher asked the kids to prepare food and give it to their favorite appa.  Next, she asked them to give to their 2nd favorite appa, and the answers are surprising! =)

Next, they discovered Dayoung's inner feelings.  First is in the swimming pool, she said she was hurt, sad and upset because G.O. played the tube with Lauren but never played it with her.  When G.O. doll said sorry to her, she smiled at once and said she loves him. *awww*  Next is at the dinner table, she said she was upset, sad and a bit irritated because Mir punished her for not eating when she's actually full.  It's a big eye opener for the appas because it's the first time they understood how Dayoung felt.  She's a really cute girl and intelligent too. ^^

The teacher said Dayoung is a child that's afraid to make mistakes so avoid comparing her with others and compliment her more.  But G.O. complimented her by comparing her to a turtle, LOL! XD  At the room interview, Dayoung asked G.O. appa to do it better next time, lol! =P 

They role played what happened with Joon and Leo, and Leo saw himself and realized he's wrong.  The teacher told the appas in disciplining the child, they have to explain carefully instead of yelling and getting angry.  I'm really learning a lot from this! =)  The expert then chose the best appa and explained why and gave them advice how to become a better dad.

Next, they went to a temple to make their father-children bond stronger and to help the kids calm their energetic spirits.  The appas each wrote their family motto and the monk chose the best motto.  I really wish Joon was there, he can learn so much from this episode on how to understand the kids better.

[Variety] MBLAQ Hello Baby - Episode 3

Mblaq and the babies have a new house!  They divide into "Mart Team" with Seungho, Loren, and Mir and the "Toy Store Team" with Cheondung, Leo, G.O., Dayoung, and Joon.

It's considerate of Seungho to remember to check on the foods that the kids like from the parents' letters to make sure that they get them from the market. =)  Mblaq appas are so happy when they saw Dayoung smile and speak. ^^

Leo fought with Lauren for the shark balloon.  I like how Cheondung handled the situation, he stayed put when the other appas are talking to Leo, and just took over when it didn't work.  He talked to him calmly and told him that he has to say sorry to Lauren.  And Leo did say sorry! =)

Joon teased Leo for being a cry baby which made Leo angry and punched him.  I agree that a child has to be disciplined because hitting is never right.  But I think Joon is confusing the child, he's acting like a child playing with them but when he got hurt, he instantly becomes a dad and puts out punishment.  If he wants authority, he has to establish it first and stop with the playing.  We don't see Leo hitting the other appas, only Joon and Mir because he see them as playmates, not dads.   The one on one talk Joon did with Leo is really great, explaining will help Leo understand better. =)

When Dayoung doesn't like to eat, Mir asked  her to leave the table.  I know Mir means well and wants to discipline her.  But Dayoung is a shy and aloof girl, pushing her away will not help. Just look at how they're seated, Lauren is on Seungho's lap and Leo on Cheondung's, while Dayoung is seated on the floor beside Mir who obviously prefers Lauren.  How do they think the little girl would feel?  I want to thank Joon for going over and hugging Dayoung because she sure needs more of those hugs.  I really want to hug Dayoung now.~

[Variety] MBLAQ Hello Baby - Episode 2

The babies went to Mblaq's dorm while they're all still sleeping.  The kids' first mission is to wake up their appas. ^^  Dayoung sure wakes them up like a boss, LOL! XD  After the appas are awake, they tour the kids into their rooms, which shows their personalities.

Seungho prepared Pororo in his computer to encourage them to be good girls and boy. =)  Mir's room got lots of comic books.  He almost cried when the kids took them out of the shelf and wrinkle them, lol! XD  G.O.'s room has music equipments fitting of a vocalist.

The three babies have very different personalities, their parents wrote letters to help Mblaq understand the kids better.  Lauren is pretty, cheerful and listens well, the appas can't help but like her.  Leo being a boy is very naughty and loves to play, but his biggest problem is politeness.  He speaks banmal to older people and even says "yah" which is very disrespectful to Koreans.  Dayoung is shy but she speaks really well just like a grown up, she's so cute when she speaks!^^  She's very observant but a bit stubborn so you have to win her before she listens to you. =)

[Variety] Pit-A-Pat Shake

It's a Lunar Year Special by MBC which is like a spin-off of WGM.  They paired up 4 couples and made them meet up and practice for a performance.  I guess it's MBC's way of finding a new couple for WGM, if any of the couples here get good response then they can continue on as regulars of WGM.

The 4 couples are:  Lee Joon and Lizzy, Sungmin and Hyorin, Taesung and Seungyeon, Hwisoon and Sunhwa.  Each girl and boy were asked who they like most among the boys/girls, but since there are overlapping preferences, the PDs made the choice who they want to match up.

Lee Joon and Lizzy are so cute!  I'd call them the "babo couple" because they both have that clueless look, so gullible but adorable. =)  I'm happy to see Joon smile again, he seems a bit unhappy the previous year and with Mblaq not having lots of Korean activities last year, I really missed them.  Joon's cheapness came out when Lizzy asked him to buy the costumes, he's really thrifty and don't like spending money, LOL! XD  I wonder why they didn't wear the gold costume Joon bought for the actual performance?  It looks so much nicer than the red they wore.

[Variety] MBLAQ Hello Baby - Episode 1

Mblaq are new dads and they're taking care of 3 babies! ^^ The hyungs are pretty confident about taking care of the babies but Joon and Mir are babies themselves to will they do good? And Cheondung is usually quiet, will he be able to be friends with the kids?

Their babies are multicultural babies. I think Cheondung will understand the babies well since he grew up in the Philippines which has different culture than in Korea, and Seungho understands too because his family are mostly in multicultural marriages.

They have to find the hints to get to the next location, and there they were given pictures and they have to find the kids themselves. The first baby is Dayoung, 3 years old from Vietnam. The 2nd baby is Lauren, 3 years old from Canada, she's so cute! ^^ The 3rd baby is Leo, 3 years old from France.

[Variety] Immortal Song 2 - Episode 25

Line up: Huh Gak, Kang Min Kyung, G.O., Hyorin, Park Jaebeom, Lee Hongki, ALi

Legend:

It's the King of Kings Special. The line up are all previous winners of the program, and they will compete using the song they sang on the time they won. I'm excited for this episode because I'm looking forward to seeing the previous singers of the show. ^^

Kim Gura and Moon Heejun are picking the match they wanted most to see, it's Hyorin and ALi, a battle between two strong performers. Also Huh Gak and Min Kyung, since it's her last stage on the show, everyone wishes that they will hug on stage finally. =P

Huh Gak's winning song is "All Things" by Songgolmae. He sang it rock this time and his vocals are flawless and he even added some b-boy moves in the dance break. I just wish he did some jumping too to make it more fun. =)

ALi chose to sing "Dawn Rain" by Hye Euni among her 3 winning songs. She made it into a dance song with full choreography. Dancing is not really her strength which I think is why she wants to challenge it more.

G.O.'s winning song is Kim Suhui's "I Can't Forget". I love it when he said he missed Jaebeom the most, their friendship is so cute. ^^ I personally love the smooth jazz feel he put into the song. =)

Hongki's winning song is "The Man From Shinsadong" by Ju Hyeonmi. He's performing with his band again and they made the song into a classic band ballad that turned out really nice.

Hyorin chose her first winning song which is Shim Subong's "The Man From Back Then". She did it exactly the way she does best, sexy with strong vocals.

Min Kyung's winning song is Kim Kwangseok's "Knowing I Should Forget". It's her favorite song which I think made it more meaningful for her and it shows in her performance. She really put all her heart into the song as she sing.

Jaebeom's winning song is "Please Don't Change" by Nam Jin. He sang it in his own style which is hip hop and R&B. It sounds really good and he did great adding the dance, but sadly I don't think the older generation will be able to relate to it.

[Variety] Birth of a Family - Episode 1

Hosts: Lee Hwi Jae, Boom, Shin Bong Sun

It's a new variety show about taking care of stray dogs. The opening story is so touching, just like what they say, dogs love unconditionally.~ The staffs fetched the hosts from their house and on their way to the shelter threw some trivia. I'm surprised that there were 89,000 dogs abandoned in Korea in 2009 alone. And after 10 days and nobody claimed the stray dogs, they're "put to sleep", does that mean they mercy kill the dogs? =(

They also invited idols to volunteer in walking and playing with the dogs in the shelter. We see 4Minute's Hyuna and Sohyun enjoying the company of the dogs. They also tell viewers the story of how the dogs were found.

The staff posted photos of the dogs in the KBS building to promote their adoption. They are holding auditions to those who would be willing to adopt a dog to see if they will fit to be their new family. We get to see singers like Secret, Infinite, SNSD, FT Island, Maybee, Kan Miyeon checking out the dog pictures. Some even went to the audition like Sistar, Infinite, Mblaq, Secret, A Pink, and lots of gagmen.

[Variety] Dream Team - High Vault Challenge

Dream Team: Kim Dongjun, Han Minkwan, Lee Hyun, Jeong Jongcheol, Seungho, Soohyun, Cheondung, Hoon, Park Jaemin, Lee Ahchung.

Dream Team's high vault record of 2.7m by Go Soo in the 1st season had been undefeated. Sangchu was able to match the record but was not successful in topping it. So will the 10 challengers this time be able to make it?

The 10 members were divided into 2 teams, trained by 2 coaches. They all worked hard in training with the hope to beat the record. =)

It's sadly the last episode for 5 of the singers and only Huh Gak will come back next episode.

1st - Huh Gak with "If I Had A Lover". He made the song into a fun and cherry version with melody that's easy to follow.

2nd - Hyorin with "A Kind Heart". She performed the song with strong vocals and very sexy choreography.

3rd - G.O. with "Aching Heart". He sang it full of emotion, like he's really in pain. Seungho even came to cheer on G.O., supportive leader. =)

4th - Jaebeom with "Please Don't Change". He made the song into smooth hip hop version with impressive dance moves. I really like the chorus, cute! ^^

5th - Kyuhyun with "With My Love". He's doing a dance version of the song. We get to see "Dance-Kyu" doing a Michael Jackson. ^^

6th - Jiyoon with "Once More". She wrote her own rap into the song which talks about a guy who cheated on her before.

The Rival Match this episode is pretty interesting, it's "Dance vs. Ballad". =) Hyorin, Jaebeom, and Jiyoon chose dance, while G.O., Kyuhyun, and Huh Gak chose ballad. They're also given the choice to pick their own songs that they think they will do well in.

1st round - Hyorin vs. G.O.

Hyorin chose "My Name" by Boa. She's a really good stage performer, the song has dance from start to finish which she did really well, plus she's also singing live the whole time.

G.O. chose "Back To You Again" which he sang with full emotion. I'm not familiar with the song but I can clearly see that G.O. poured out so much feelings in singing the song. Really great!

2nd round - Jaebeom vs. Huh Gak

Jaebeom chose "Look Back At Me". I think he really put everything he does best in this performance. He sang R&B style to control his vocals, but danced full force in the dance break and even adding b-boy which he does best at the end. ^^

Huh Gak chose "You Are The One For Me" to showcase his vocal range. He has a very pretty voice that fits ballad so well. This round's voting depends on personal preference because I think both did very well.

3rd round - Jiyoon vs. Kyuhyun

Jiyoon chose "Coming Of Age" which is a very popular song back in the day. She's not one with very strong vocals but she gave her best in this performance.

Kyuhyun chose "A Study Of Memory" with her sister in violin. He performed the song with an orchestra accompaniment that blends well with his voice. The ballad singers really belt it out to compete with all the dance the dance team did.

Jaebeom won in the first competition so he got the chance to choose when he wants to sing. To the surprise of everyone, he chose to sing first! It's the first time that anyone chose to sing first because going first makes you most nervous and give you the least chance of winning. But being the cool guy that he is, Jaebeom chose to go first. =)

1st - Jaebeom singing "Happy Day" in the version he's most comfortable with, R&B. He added some rap in English as he usually does. Pretty nice version. =)

2nd - Jiyoon singing "The Clown Laughs At Us". She did a great stage with full choreography. I notice that her voice has become stronger and steadier. Her vocals still has room for improvement but I'm happy to see that she's doing her best. =)

3rd - Hyorin singing "Too Lonely To Dance Alone" in another sexy and powerful performance.

4th - Huh Gak singing "Dancing To The Rhythm" making it into a ballad version.

5th - G.O. singing "Tonight" in a very nice Jazz version. I'm surprised with his voting results.

6th - Kyuhyun singing "The Masquerade". When I saw Kyu with dark eyeliners, I'm really curious what he prepared. It's a rock performance and it's great! ^^

Theme for this episode is "Summer Vacation With Friends". The challengers are paired up with another celebrity for their performance. They're going with the rivals method again by internet voting on who will go against whom.

1st round - Jiyoon vs. Huh Gak

Jiyoon with Gong Hyeong Jin are singing "Life Is". They rock the stage with the rock version.

Huh Gak with Lee Si Young chose "One And A Half" and went for the cute concept. =)

2nd round - Kyuhyun vs. G.O.

Kyuhyun with Kim Min Jong singing the song "With You". Super Junior helped Kyuhyun with the choreography to make it more fun and I think it really worked. ^^

G.O. with Cho Yeo Jeong chose a very fun song, "Let's Go On A Trip". The couple look is cute.

3rd round - Hyorin vs. Jaebeom

Hyorin with Hyun Woo chose the song "Don't Leave Me". They both sing quite well but they have trouble with their harmony. =S

Jaebeom with Solbi, Kim Soo Ro and Jang Hyuk singing "Tell Me". It's really nice that Jaebeom's seniors came to help him out. It's a really fun performance. =)

[Variety] Immortal Song 2 - Episode 11

With the new challengers came a new rule, the winner from the preliminaries can choose when to sing during the performance, unlike before that they will have to decide beforehand. I wish they just took the rules from the preliminaries, the "rival" method. I think it's more fair to choose a final winner from the 3 who already won.

1st singer is Jaebeom to sing "Yearning". He looks like he's loosing his mind on the way to the stage, LOL! XD It sure is nerve wracking to be the first to sing, and it's his first time in the main competition too. He changed the song and made it into R&B, it's actually pretty nice. I think Jaebeom may be one of the weaker singers of the list but he makes up for it with his passionate performance.

2nd picked is Huh Gak singing "Sorrows". I'm kinda glad the new challengers got picked to sing first. His version is very emotional, like a drama ost. But the choir in the background made it sound like a church song, I'm not sure if they go together. =S I didn't get to watch him in Superstar K, but I guess his strong point is singing ballads? He's really good at it.

3rd is Hyorin with the song "The Seoul Woman". After losing for a number of weeks straight, she went back to what she does best, belting it out with her powerful voice and matching it with energetic sexy dance. =)

4th singer is Kyuhyun with "Too Much". We know his a very good singer but his throat is in a very bad condition on the day of the competition so he's struggling with every note as he sings. I think he still did quite well.

Jiyoon chose to sing 5th with the song "The Southbound Train". She went for retro dance for her version and it's pretty cute. ^^ I think what she improved on in this show is she's opening up her vocals more now.

Last to sing is G.O. with "I Can't Forget". He haven't won yet so like Hyorin, he just go for his strengths. The song sounds jazzy with nice band accompaniment, and he depended mainly on his vocals for this performance.

The summer specials are over and their back with 3 new challengers, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Jaebeom and Huh Gak. The first challenge is "Old and New Idols Joint Performance". They invited 6 first generation idols, Moon Hee Jun, Son Ho Young, Kan Mi Yeon, Goo Jun Yeop, Hong Jonggu, and DJ DOC to sing together with the current challengers. They're performing by order of "rivals".

First Round - Hyorin vs. Huh Gak
Hyorin and DJ DOC sang "Love is Still", it's fun and Hyorin fits right in with the guys.
Huh Gak and Hong Jonggu chose the song "What I Wanted From You". Huh Gak's voice goes from soft to strong with the high notes, nice!

Second Round - Jiyoon vs. Kyuhyun
Jiyoon and Goo Jun Yeop chose "I", a really popular song back then, with full choreography. They sure worked hard for that number.
Kyuhyun and Son Ho Young is singing "Lies", took out all the rap from the original song and made it into R&B. Kyuhyun sure is one of the most popular Super Junior member, foreign fans from the audience even stood up to cheer for him. ^^

Third Round - G.O. vs. Jaebeom
G.O. and Kan Mi Yeon are doing "Killer", turned it into latino and added ballroom dancing to it.
Jaebeom and Moon Hee Jun sang the very cute H.O.T. song, "Candy". Hee Jun and Jay are both cracking me up with their humor, lol! XD There sure is a reason why you need 5 people to sing that song. ^^ I think what gets Jay misunderstood a lot is his carefree attitude, he doesn't hide his awkwardness under a smile and just acts cool about it. But I hope he'll smile more, he sure looks a lot better showing those pearly whites. =)

It's "Kkap Special" and I love the guests!!! ^^ Kkap Kwon is still a hit to young and old, his kkap just never grows old. And Lee Joon, everything he says is just so funny, he's so adorable! =)

Joon said that his first variety show was with Jo Kwon, but Kwon's so good that Joon started to stammer and he hasn't been able to stop his stammer until now, LOL! XD

I think it's Sungjong's first time on the show? He prepared girl group dance routine, I wish they asked him to do the scorpion dance just to see the difference of him being a cool stage idol vs. a kkap girl group dancer.

The girls are preparing for their 1st solo concert, Nolza! They start full rehearsals 2 weeks before the actual concert dates. Lots of meetings and discussions on concepts and stage appearance. Taeyang also came for Minzy's performance.

1 week before the concert, Dara's brother, Cheondung is having Mblaq's 1st concert too. She went straight to the concert after rehearsal. We also get to see the girls filming for a clip to be shown in the concert. It's an outdoor club scene so they're all dancing with loud music but a police suddenly came telling them that they got a complaint for the noise. =S

[Variety] Immortal Song 2 - Episode 7

Challengers: Changmin, Hyorin, Hongki, G.O., Junsu, Jiyoon

The legend they are singing is: Ju Hyun Mi - the queen of trot in Korea

I wasn't interested in watching this show when it first aired, I thought it would be just another music show. But as I watch each episode, it became more interesting. Watching the idols try to interpret a song their way, it's jjang! =)

1st to sing is Hyorin, it's her first time to sing first. What I love about her is she's so perky off stage but serious when she goes on stage. She's singing "The Rainy Yeongdong Bridge" which she incorporated with Korean traditional music. The song turned out really nice but her voice sounds like she's having a hard time competing with the background instruments.

2nd singer is Changmin singing "The Blues of Tears". He went for sentimental for his version of the song. I think it sounds a bit latino in style. The background music in this episode seem to be louder than before? I'm having a hard time hearing their voice.

3rd is Jeon Jiyoon to sing "We Meet Again". Her version was arranged to fit her voice I think. I really like the opening, sweet and cute. The next part was made into modern semi-rock version.

4th singer is Junsu with "Just a Second". The BTS of Junsu practicing with 2PM is cute, specially Khun doing that second voice! So cute!!! His version is hip hop with the help of Oneway's Chance. He even added rap in it. It turned out pretty good. =)

Hongki who won in the preliminaries chose to sing 5th. He's singing with FT Island again the song "The Man From Sinsadong". He made the song into britpop version. The opening sounds western, I was expecting him to sing in English, lol! XD Really really nice. =)

Last to sing is G.O. with the song "You Will Turn Into A Memory". He's doing it rock version after the almost original opening part. His voice is really nice, it's stronger than when he's singing Mblaq songs.

We have a new challenger this time, it's 4Minute's Jiyoon taking Secret's Ji Eun's place.

For the preliminary competition, they are doing duets. Each challenger chose a partner to sing with, the winner will get the privilege to choose when he/she want to sing on the main competition.

First pair to sing is Jeon Jiyoon and Lee Sejun. It's Jiyoon's first time to sing a ballad and the song she chose is "Parting Story". I'm used to hear her sing dance songs, I didn't know she has such a sweet voice.

Second pair is Hyorin and Shin Yongjae. They chose to sing the song "Now", which has a little bit faster tone than the first pair's.

3rd to sing are Lee Changmin and Lee Hyeon which I think have an edge over the others since they've been singing together as a duo team "Homme" and had proven to have great harmony together. They're singing "Lay Me Down On The Sea" which was a male-female duet original.

My most anticipated duet is Lee Hongki and Kim Heechul's because they look so worried right from the start, lol! XD They're the 4th team to sing and they're singing "Morning Admission Discount". They made their concept more like a musical with the costume. The song they chose is really nice and Heechul sand surprisingly well. ^^

5th team is Junsu and Lee Yeonghyeon singing "Our Love Will". I think it's nice that they stick with the original duet without making too much variation, I love old school ballads.

And the last to sing is G.O. and Im Jeonghui. They're singing "Pain Deeper Than Love" which they changed a bit into a softer version.

Challengers: Changmin, Hyorin, Ji Eun, Hongki, G.O., Junsu

The legend they are singing is: Min Hae Kyeong

1st to sing is Hongki together with his FT Island members who came to perform with him and give support. He's singing "You Smile Like a Doll" which they made into rock version since they're a rock band after all.

2nd is G.O. singing "No More Love" in jazz version. I find it very classy with the saxophone and G.O.'s soothing voice. =)

3rd is Junsu singing "The Face I Miss". It's interesting that the 3 new challengers are the first 3 to sing and pitted against each other. His version is from slow to punk rock.

Changmin chose to sing 4th with the same song that Hongki sang, "You Smile Like a Doll". He sang it comfortably with acoustic guitar accompaniment and a cute finish. ^^

5th to sing is Hyorin who looks pretty relaxed going on stage with "Mini Skirt". She sang the song in a sexy way complete with choreography and costume change. Hyorin is really good with this concept.

Last challenger is Jieun with the song "My Life is Mine". The arranger used sampling of Secret's song "Madonna" into the song. I personally find it weird but I'm no musician.

[Variety] Immortal Song 2 - Episode 4

Challengers: Changmin, Hyorin, Ji Eun, Hongki, G.O., Junsu

There are 3 new challengers starting this episode, FT Island's Lee Hongki, Mblaq's G.O., and 2PM's Junsu, replacing Yesung, Jonghyun and Yoseob who left the show because of their busy schedules.

The mission they received this time is to sing Pop Music Top Ten's number one song from 1992. Everyone was surprised and worried because they're just toddlers in that year so how can they sing a song they barely know? (I'm so old! LOL! o_0 I don't have any problem singing along to 1992 songs from Boyz II Men, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, etc. at all. =P)

G.O. talked about his past singer experience before Mblaq, it was not an easy road for him to come to where he is right now. Changmin looks like he enjoyed the stage a lot, he had so much fun! =) Hongki looks so nervous while watching the other singers sing, while Hyorin looks like the most relaxed one.
