[Drama] Sungkyunkwan Scandal - Ep20

Everyone found out that Sun Joon is not the real messenger and the King ordered to have him released. Yoon Hee handed the geumdungjisa to the King and it's now the King's turn to do his part. While everyone was celebrationg Sun Joon's release, Yoon Hee was talking to Sun Joon's father, where he was thanking Yoon Hee for helping his son get out of prison.

The Jalgeum quartet had their own celebration in their room. After a drunk night, they fell asleep all together in the same room with Sun Joon holding Jaeshin's hand, LOL! XD The next day, the news of Yoon Hee being a girl reached the King while Sun Joon and Yoon Hee are preparing for him to meet her mother. Yoon Hee was taken to face the King for hiding that she's a girl all this time. The 3 boys run to her rescue but to no avail. Sun Joon even went on his knees to beg his father to help Yoon Hee.

Minister Lee in his last resort to give in to his son asked his faction to agree with the King but only turned down by everyone. Chosun came to stop the meeting and rescued by InSoo. Yongha was able to buy some time using his wits on the scholars. And Sun Joon went to talk directly to the King. I guess everyone's effort worked because the King chose to save Yoon Hee.

I have the same sentiments as most that the series was closed abruptly. It's the last episode and they have so many things to cover to make everything neat and clean. But I'm still happy, all ended well and that's what I wanted. =)

Jaeshin got wounded badly while trying to buy some time for Yoon Hee and Sun Joon to escape. In Soo personally escorted the soldiers to search Sungkyunkwan for the red messenger. Sun Joon offered to get arrested and was put in jail. I personally think this sacrifice that Sun Joon made is part of his repentance for what his father did to his friend's fathers.

While Jaeshin is about to make things right to free SunJoon, he was stopped by his father's guards and locked in their house. Yongha in turn told InSoo that he will be charged by the student body for abuse of power but InSoo has something up in his sleeves to blackmail Yongha, to reveal in the council that he is not of noble background but on a merchant's son. Yongha confessed in the hearing, and I love it that he finally got his major moment and it's fantastic! =)

Yongha and Yoon Hee came to rescue Jaeshin and on their way to visit Sun Joon, Jaeshin gave his final letting go. He let Yoon Hee go alone to visit the love of her life and my heart is in pain for him. T.T Yoon Hee visited Sun Joon but Hyo Eun was there too. She overheard her told Sun Joon that she can only give him the heart of a GIRL. So the secret is now out.

The student body is off to present their case to the King. While Yoon Hee digs the place where the guemdungjisa is. And In Soo overhearing his sister saying that Yoon Hee is a girl.

Sun Joon went home to ask his father directly about the land and we get to understand where he's coming from. Minister Lee puts protecting the country as the most important of all. He believes that he did nothing wrong and only did what should be done for the country.

While Sun Joon is busy with his father, Jaeshin is busy comforting Yoon Hee. The next day, Jaeshin asked Sun Joon to lie about the land deed to protect Yoon Hee from pain. But being the straight path Sun Joon that he is, he chose to seek repentance and to do that, he has to tell the truth.

Yoon Hee went home to ask her mother about her father's death. Her mother confirmed the truth by telling her that she's protecting her from fighting the world. Yoon Shik also revealed to Yoon Hee that their father always read out loud for her to hear because he knows that he has a talented daughter but is sorry that he can't do anything to let her use them.

And the quest to find the geumdungjisa continues. Sun Joon went out looking for the receiver of the land deed while the others went to Sungkyunkwan's places of education to look for the clue. Sun Joon got into an uninvited brawl and the other 3 came running for the rescue.

When they finally found Yoon, Chosun appeared dressed as the fake red messenger to kill him. Jaeshin came running after Chosun was able to unmask her. They found out the truth from Yoon that it was not Minister Lee that ordered the murder but Minister Ha.

The jalgeum quartet were all blindfolded and brought to a secret place. They were all surprised to realize that it's the King who gathered them all together to give them their secret mission, to look for the Geum Deung Ji Sa. This mission just sealed the jalgeum quartet which strengthened their bond even more.

We get to see more lovey dovey Sun Joon and Yoon Hee, the proposal, the accidental hug in the elevator, the love letter in the library, the holding hands while studying, the "date" in the market, and the kiss! =)

All four of them went on their own duties to look for the scroll. Yongha went to look for the trail that leads to Sun Joon's and InSoo's father. Jaeshin in turn looked around his father's documents and found more evidence. While Yongha and Jaeshin are talking about it, Sun Joon and Yoon Hee came and overheard everything.

Yoon Hee got found out by Sun Joon and we're all not over the fact that his angst is short of expected but life goes on. ^^ So the two are spending the night in the same room, locked by a spoon (LOL!) with the help of Soon Dol. Since Sun Joon already know that Yoon Hee's a girl, he let her sleep on the mattress while he stayed up to read. But Yoon Hee eventually gave him the comforter and she can just use the mattress for herself.

On their way back, Jaeshin and Yoon Hee met Chosun. She asked Yoon Hee to see her, and on her way past Jaeshin, he got a smell of her perfume which smells similar to the smell of the fake red messenger.

The first night that they're back is the funniest "butt scene" ever between Sun Joon and Jaeshin, LOL! XD They're pushing each other to sleep beside Yoon Hee to protect her from the other. =P But with the help of Yongha, Yoon Hee got to sleep in his room.

Sungkyunkwan is having another school competition. It's based on intelligence this time. The student that gets the highest grade in different lessons will receive a basket of precious tangerines. Sun Joon is asking Yoon Hee to get out of Sungkyunkwan but she bargained that he let her stay if she wins the competition. At the end, it's the two of them competing for the final round.

Sun Joon won in the end but he just can't let Yoon Hee out of his sight so he let her stay, and their love story begun. =P We get to witness in this episode their very first kiss! ^^

And Lee Sun Joon saves the day! ^^ Yoon Hee's two heroes just keeps on taking turns saving her, lucky girl! =) And again, InSoo got pwned, poor guy. =S Sun Joon is leaving Sungkyunkwan to stay away from Yoon Hee and avoid getting her into trouble because of his feelings for her.

On the day that Sun Joon is visiting HyoEun to formalize the engagement, Yoon Hee sneaked out from school to go see him herself. Sun Joon saw her, had a little chat, and that is the end for HyoEun. Sun Joon went in to tell her that he can't marry her and to ask her forgiveness. He then run after Yoon Hee.

In the middle of the street of the market, Sun Joon confessed wholeheartedly his feeling to Yoon Hee with tears rolling down his cheeks. It must have been the most difficult thing for him to do, you can feel the agony he's going through. It's the same as admitting to the world that he's gay and he's in love with a man but he just can't hide what he's feeling anymore and just needs to let Yoon Hee know.

Leaving Sungkyunkwan, away from Yoon Hee, Sun Joon became a love sick puppy and his loyal friend just can't stand it anymore. He listened to Yongha's suggestion and brought Sun Joon to the location where the Sungkyunkwan scholars are having a free day.

There he met Yoon Hee again. She fell on the creek, Sun Joon to the rescue and her most kept secret is revealed. I know, there's no drama, no big revelation, no nothing. I myself was looking forward to a stronger conflict that this revelation will create. But I guess Sun Joon is just way to relieved to know that he's not gay that he let it all pass with just a shock and he's ok. There's so much drama waiting to happen but way too few episodes left to close everything. =S

Don't you just love that shot? Geul-Oh with the 2 loves of his life. =P

Yoon Hee hides with Jaeshin but Sun Joon saw them and thought of something else when he saw their faces very close to each other. Yongha called a doctor and hides Jaeshin in his room. But InSoo seems to feel something's wrong and went in and looked around. I kinda felt bad for InSoo actually because all his instinct is telling him are right but he can't seem to get anything else right. =S

When Jaeshin is back in his feet, he and Yoon Hee accidentally met in the library and others so them being very close to each other, so the homosexual issue arise. InSoo made the issue bigger by raising the issue to the Student Council to decide if they will kick out the two from Sungkyunkwan. This will serve two purposes for InSoo, either he get rid of two of the four thorns in his life or he catch the Red Messenger.

And who gets to be the star witness? None other than Lee Sun Joon. What will he do to save Yoon Hee this time? We'll find out in the next episode. =)

So there, Sun Joon received a kiss from Chosun to the surprise of everyone in their table. Chosun is hurting for Yoon Hee's sake because she thought she's gay and she knows that it's totally unacceptable to be in a gay relationship in those days.

Yoon Hee drank the night away and Jae Shin is there to the rescue. =) He confronted Sun Joon about the issue and asked him why he allowed that to happen and if he even care for Yoon Hee at all. This is just added more friction in their competition over Yoon Hee.

The next day, the game starts and In Soo is planning something bad for Yoon Hee. He wants Yoon Hee to have the ball all the time to have the chance to hit her with the stick. But with Sun Joon blocking Yoon Hee, it's him who got hit instead.

Sun Joon waking from being hit and with his head still troubled over liking Yoon Hee against his will, he asked Hyo Eun to marry him. Yoon Hee heard it all and walked away with a broken heart.

The fake Red messenger sends a trap for Jae Shin to come out and he took the bait. Yong Ha tried to stop him with tears in his eyes but it's of no use. Jae Shin still went and got hurt badly in the battle. He got back and Yoon Hee was there. The Red Messenger finally revealed himself to Yoon Hee.

[Drama] Sungkyunkwan Scandal - Ep12

We get to see the very first "date" of our two leads. They were stuck in the island, Sun Joon got sick ang Yoon Hee has to do something to make him better. I love the cricket scene, it's so cute! The first (and I think also the last?) time we got to see Sun Joon joking. ^^

A sports event is coming up for the "Open House" where females are allowed to enter Sungkyunkwan and instead of the Noron vs. Soron that happens yearly, In Soo decided to use this event to divide the Jalgeum Quartet, it's draw lots. Yoon Hee and Jae Shin on one team and Sun Joon and Yong Ha in the opposing team.

Open House came and Chosun came to visit Yoon Hee while Hyo Eun came to visit Sun Joon and with a stroke of luck, they met at dinner. Since our love birds came with different partners, we know how awkward it gets and the tension just kept rising. Chosun is fast to grasp the situation while Hyo Eun remains clueless.

Sun Joon surrendering the ledger to the King to prove that it's the corrupt official that are the thieves and not Yoon Hee. But then came the real thief who then confessed of the sin he did. The King asked Yoon Hee to give the penalty for his sin, and he was not disappointed. So the Jalgeum Quartet passed the exam. =)

Yoon Hee went to thank Sun Joon for what he did. Sun Joon is asking Yoon Hee to stay by his side, but then came the lips and so he goes, LOL! XD Sun Joon is trying so hard to convince himself that he is feeling nothing for Yoon Hee and that she is just a room mate, repeating the phrase to himself over and over. =P

The four went to visit the King to receive their reward for a job well done. This is the first time that Yoon Hee got to know that her father was a professor in Sungkyunkwan. The King also granted them a vacation. Yongha planned an island get away with Sun Joon and Hyo Eun but actually have Yoon Hee in mind. With this witty guy's skills, the two did go to the island and got stuck there for a night.

So yeah, Sun Joon did see Yoon Hee as a girl, but because it's Kim Yoon Shik, he didn't even doubt that she's a boy. =S But the good thing is, they were able to escape, thanks to Yong Ha. ^^ It's touching to see Sun Joon actually admitting that he's having a soft spot for Yoon Hee that he would want her to be his friend, the first he will ever have.

They finally found the thief but it's how to convince him to admit it is the challenge. All 4 went to talk to him, but to no avail. Yoon Hee's last resort is to use the ledger recording bribes given by the merchants to officials. She gave it to Sun Joon for him to decide if they will use it or not since his father will be one of the officials that will be affected.

While Sun Joon is trying to think of the right thing to do, Jae Shin tried once again to talk to the thief for him to do the right thing. Until the day of the test, in front of the King, who will be Yoon Hee's hero?

Yoon Hee confronted Sun Joon on the loaned money, another lovers quarrel? ^^ Yon Hee went home and we get to see her as a girl again. Sun Joon on the other hand was faced with a marriage engagement to Hyo Eun.

After the break, something big happened in the school that even the King went in to intervene. There was a burglary and Yoon Hee is the main suspect. The King used this incident as their test, the students has to choose if their side, will they prove her guilty or innocent. Only the Jalgeum quartet were left to help Yoon Hee look for the real thief. But the real motive the King have behind this test is to find a most trustworthy scholar he can entrust in finding the Geum Deung Ji Sa.

The students were given access to the government offices as interns to investigate. But they only saw the officers sleeping and gambling, then tearing down goods of illegal sellers in the market. They now saw with their own eyes the real world, with the dirty works of their government.

The 4 decided to look for evidence in the merchant's storage while the merchant's meeting is being held. Sun Joon went in the storage while Yong Ha stands guard among the guests. But with In Soo's instincts, he tipped that there's a thief in the storage and had the guards look around. With Sun Joon still inside, there's only Yoon Hee to the rescue. She wore a gisaeng outfit and made it look like she and Sun Joon is fooling around in the storage room. I'm surprised Sun Joon didn't question Yoon Hee's gender after seeing her looking prettier than a regular girl. =S

Yoon Hee was able to escape from the eye of the professor in the nick of time with Jaeshin's help. ^^ Now Jaeshin has to find a way to cure his hiccups because he sure is going to get a lot of it with Yoon Hee around, lol! XD

Everybody got a vacation but In Soo can't just let Yoon Hee go home without a scar, he purposely gave her medicine and left over food to show her she's not in the same level as them. Jaeshin followed her on her way home when he realized the night before that she's the girl she rescued from thieves before. I think he's clearly falling for her without him knowing. ^^

Sun Joon on the other hand was entangled in a huge misunderstanding with Hyo Eun when their fathers together with other officials saw them together. How will Sun Joon get out of marriage when the families agreed for them to be together?

[Drama] Sungkyunkwan Scandal - Ep7

The archery competition continues and we finally get to see the Jalgeum quartet or Jalgeum F4 together. =) While the Minister of War is busy looking for the Red Messenger, the competition becomes tighter and everyone is one the edge of their seats.

Jealousy from all sides are coming out. ^^ In Soo is jealous of Yoon Hee because of Chosun, Sun Joon got jealous when he saw Yoon Hee and Jae Shin playing around while waiting for the finals, and Yoon Hee jealous of Hyo Eun when she saw her in a hug-like stance with Sun Joon. =P

Yoon Hee got into a brawl with Byung Choon when she confronted him about sabotaging her bow. While cleaning up, Yong Ha saw her and pointed her to a secret place. Of course this is Yong Ha's tactic to find out if she's really a real girl. So while Yoon Hee is enjoying bathing in the tub, our Jalgeum quartet all got themselves in the same place. ^^ And Jaeshin got himself some hiccups. ~

[Drama] Sungkyunkwan Scandal - Ep6

The love angle of the story is starting to come out. I know it's very much "Brokeback Mountain" right now, but it's nice to see that the feelings are all starting from friendship and pure admiration.

First smile of Sun Joon to Yoon Hee is love~ I think I like Sun Joon most in this episode. He's relaxed, smiles a number of times and genuinely happy seeing Yoon Hee succeed.

And even Jaeshin got his first taste of hiccups with Yoon Hee which somehow confirmed Yongha's speculation about Yoon Hee's being a girl. I'm surprised at Yongha's keen ability to notice things which shows how smart he is but still able to pull off the playboy image. ^^

I love Yoon Hee!!! She's intelligent, upright (but not too stiff like Sun Joon), filial, friendly, and funny. =) I totally adore her! She's getting the attention of our 3 hot boys even while she's still a boy herself, that's what you call charm. ^^

Yoon Hee became unconscious after her near death experience from the school body president's arrow. Someone from Sungkyunkwan found out about Yoon Hee's secret and he's not going to let her go that easily. =S

While Sun Joon is creating a miracle to make Yoon Hee believe, she now found herself in a tight position. In the end, she decided to fight for her stay in the school by working hard in proving that a girl can be an equal to any boy.

1st lesson, "the one who questions will get the answer". Love this drama! =)

Yoon Hee got her nickname DaeMul because she was able to get the inner clothing of the most untouchable gisaeng, Chosun. This irks the student council president more because he can't even see her. =P Yoon Hee's also so cute when Sun Joon started taking off his clothes, she's all worked up with heart beating fast, lol! XD

And we get to know more about Jae Shin's character in this episode. But it still leaves a lot of questions in my head that I am looking forward to watching the next episode already. ^^

There are a lot of reference to history specially the part about the "Red Messenger" and the King which I find difficult to understand. Here's a really good recap from dramabeans that can help us understand more >> Episode 4 recap. =)

Lee Sun Joon is trying to defy the initiation tradition which is why he chose not to do the mission even if he actually did go and had done it. And Yong Ha in turn explained to him the reason for such tradition. Sun Joon is expected to occupy the northern wing but due to his beliefs, he stood by the rules that he will take the eastern dorm because that's where he was assigned.

These short glimpses of the real world is what I like about the drama. They show the viewers what's really happening behind closed doors in the current time by using a parallel world in the olden days. I so love Joongki's character, he's relaxed, witty, funny and a hottie! =P

After escaping the police, Sun Joon continued to help Yoon Hee/Yoon Shik without her knowing to get into the school. He saw potential in her and wanted her to use her talents to help the country.

I love the part when Yon Hee started to imagine what will happen if she refused the King's order, in turn trying to appear strong, it's so cute! It would've been hilarious if they showed Sun Joon with a comical weirded out face when Yoon Hee started acting like that, LOL! XD

I so love Song Joongki! He reminds me of Onew in looks and cute reactions. ^^ Yong Ha is overly intrigued with Yoon Hee/Yoon Shik now, I think he's suspecting that Yoon Shik is actually a girl already but still can't point it out directly so he wants to do everything he can to expose her.
