[Drama] Spy Myung Wol - Episode 1

It's Eric's comeback drama! ^^ The drama stars Han Ye Seul as Han Myung Wol, a North Korean military officer and Eric Mun as Kang Woo, a South Korean hallyu star. Both from totally different worlds but somehow, their paths will cross. =) The story is light and cute. It gives us a clear story line and add the funny and we got a very entertaining drama on our hand. ^^ Plus to that a swimming and shower scene from Eric on the very first episode, perfect, just perfect! =P

Kang Woo is one super star not only in South Korea but even in North Korea where a daughter of a general is one big fan. The General tasked secret agent Choi Ryu for a special mission in the Singapore and chose Myung Wol to be his partner, tagged along is the general's daughter to watch Kang Woo's concert. In Singapore, the girl challenged Myung Wol to get her Kang Woo's autograph. This resulted to multiple encounters of Myung Wol and Kang Woo.

Until one night in an auction house, Kang Woo bought an old book but was ambushed by Choi Ryu in mask trying to take the book from him but failed. They went back to North Korea with Choi Ryu denying her to join the secret service as long as he's the officer in charge of the division. Myung Wol saw her pen that she threw to a masked man and she knew that if she can get the book, she'll be able to enter the secret service.

So she went to South Korea to look for Kang Woo and in a shooting location, she saw Kang Woo in danger of explosion and saved him. She's the one that got injured and was hospitalized with Kang Woo worriedly waiting for her to wake up.

[Drama] Secret Garden

Hyun Bin - as Kim Joo Won, the CEO of a top department store. He is arrogant and used to getting his way. He's claustrophobic but kept it a secret to everyone. He's a cousin of a top star which is why he went to a movie set where he met Gil Ra Im. It's love at first sight for him, but he don't want to acknowledge the feelings at first. He always gets this sense of wanting to protect her, that only proves that he does love her.

This drama renewed Hyun Bin's popularity once again. He played Kim Joo Won well and made it believable that you can't help but love him. I think the off cam chemistry between him and Ha Ji Won also helps because the comfortable relationship they have flowed through the drama. I still think being too thin doesn't suit him though, but still good looking nonetheless. =)

Ha Ji Won - as Gil Ra Im, a poor stuntwoman that is proud of the work she does. She lost her father, a fireman, while saving a person in a burning building. She found out later that the person her father saved is Kim Joo Won. She's also a big fan of Oska, Joo Won's cousin, that only made Joo Won become more aggressive in winning her over.

I know lots of girls watched this drama and fell head over heels over Hyun Bin. But in my case, I totally love Ha Ji Won from episode one! She's perfect as Gil Ra Im, gorgeous but not mindful of her beauty. She's a natural actress and so adorable off cam. I only have good words for her so I won't continue, I so love her and I'm a total fan! ^^

Yoon Sang Hyun - as Oska, a top star not only in Korea but in other countries as well. He had a failed relationship when he was young that left a deep scar in his heart. This caused him to become a playboy and not be able to get into a serious relationship. He was surprised to learn that the person that broke his heart is going to marry his cousin. This made him realize that he still loves her.

At first I thought Yoon Sang Hyun playing a playboy top star wouldn't work, but after watching, I think he did quite well. Because thinking of playboy, first thought that came to my mind is someone young, tough and a bad boy. But then he has to be older than Hyun Bin which made the character more difficult to mold. So I would give props to the casting director for making it believable.

Kim Sa Rang - as Yoon Seul, an ambitious woman that aims to marry the most eligible bachelor that is Joo Won. She also happens to be the first love of hallyu star, Oska, Joo Won's cousin that is more like a big brother to him. She had a bad break up with Oska due to a big misunderstanding. Getting closer to Joo Won helped her see Oska again that led to clear things up and renew their feelings for each other.

She played a villain role but I think it's a bit bland. Maybe because her character has too much going on, she's supposed to be bad but still good inside. But I'm not saying that she's bad, because I didn't really cringe whenever she appears on screen. So I think she did okay. =)


Summary:

Kim Joo Won took it upon himself to make Oska renew another contract as endorser of their department store. But because of Oska's scandals, he had to go see the actress that threatened to show their pictures to the media. But he mistakenly took Gil Ra Im instead she never left his mind since then.

One day when they were out of town, Joo Won and Ra Im walked into the forest and met lady owner of a small restaurant that gave them flower wine. They both drank the wine and with the rain came their changed personalities. Joo Won became Ra Im and Ra Im became Joo Won. I personally didn't like the switching because it made me dizzy trying to look for Joo Won's characteristics in Ra Im and vice versa. But I guess it's a nice twist to make the drama different from norm.

The big test came when Ra Im fell into coma and Joo Won went to face the storm to take her place. He wrote a long letter while crying, telling her that she won't be his little mermaid, she will not become bubbles because he loves her. Since it's a fantasy infused drama, they eventually both survived the coma and lived happily ever after. ^_^

It's a feel good drama that gave me what it offered, it made me feel good after watching it. =) I love that it's not too hard on the drama but can still touch my heart. The actors also played a big part which made the whole project a success. One of the nicest dramas I've watched lately. ^^

[Drama] Personal Taste

Lee Min Ho - as Jeon Jin Ho, an architect who owns a small firm that is trying his best to win back his father's company that they lost in the hands of their competitor. He got mistaken to be gay by Park Gae In, the daughter of the owner of Sanggojae, the house that he needed to check out for it's architectural design to win in a bid for Dam Art Gallery. He lived with Gae In and eventually fell in love with her.

From the first time I watched Lee Min Ho in Boys Before Flowers, I've always found his acting to be really good. He's not just a pretty face but is actually very talented and this drama is no different. He didn't really do anything big that made me go wow here but he did his role well for me to believe it. Of course his good looks is a big plus (LOL =P) but his acting made watching the drama more bearable. ^^


Son Ye Jin - as Park Gae In, the current resident of Sanggojae while her father is not around. She's a very positive girl that trusts easily. She has a good heart but is very gullible which make people either take her for granted or use her. Jin Ho is the man that is by her side when she was broken hearted which made her fall in love with him.

Son Ye Jin is very different from her sweet image in this drama. Here, she's cute, funny, and adorable. I'm surprised that she didn't even get an acting nomination from KBS for her work in this drama. Because aside from Lee Min Ho, her stable acting is the only saving grace this drama had. If not for the 2 leads that are both adorable, I wouldn't even get past episode 6?


Summary:

Jeon Jin Ho's father lost his company because of the betrayal of one of his executives. At his young age, he promised to get everything back and worked with all his might to be a very good architect. His time has come with the Dam Art Gallery project. He has to win this project to save his small firm. He got information that the son of the owner of Dam Art Gallery really love the architectural design of Sanggojae which made him find a way to get inside it.

Park Gae In accepted Jin Ho to be a tenant in her house thinking he's gay. She was betrayed by her boyfriend and friend who got together behind her back. Then came Jin Ho that helped her get over her pain. He taught her how to become a woman that men desires. Living together with a very good looking and kind man, she can't help but fall for him.

That's basically the whole story, how the writer expected to last 16 episodes with just that premise is a big mystery to me. Adding lots of sweet moments that made my heart flutter did help, a lot, but after those moments, I'm back to waiting for something more to happen. I really felt bad that good talents got wasted for a drama with not much meat in it. I'm giving plus points for good acting, heart fluttering moments and the last episode that I liked which made me happy after watching the drama. =)

[Drama] Sungkyunkwan Scandal - Ep1

It's the first episode of Yoochun's very first Korean drama!!! ^^

The entrance of characters are very nice, each were given their time and we get a glimpse of their roles in the coming episodes. We first got to meet Kim Yoon Hee (Park Min Young) in male garb earning money with her intelligence. Then came, Gu Yong Ha (Song Joongki) as the playful Sungkyunkwan student. His character is expressive which is fun to watch. =) They met and Yong Ha seems to find something amiss already because he's somewhat attracted to this pretty little guy. ^^

We meet Lee Sun Joon (Park Yoochun) in his all righteous state, not afraid of showing everyone that he has principles and is willing to stand by it by all means. Sun Joon is stiff and doesn't care about what people say as long as he's in the right, which is a pretty difficult character to play if you ask me. Kim Hyun Joong got so much flack for playing this kind of role in Boys Over Flowers so I hope Yoochun will work extra hard to make his character work.

Yoon Hee's family is in deep debt so she's forced to take the bookstore owner's offer to take the entrance test to Sungkyunkwan to help other students to cheat and pass the exam. But they still don't have enough money to pay and the best way her mother thought of is to marry her to their debtor.

On her way back from the debtor's house with the money that was refused because it's not enough, gang members came out and cornered her. And now here comes Moon Jae Shin (Yoo Ah In) to the rescue. I love his character, reminds me of Queen Seondok's Bidam. ^^

I'm loving the drama so far! The introductions are great, the production is pretty and the story is fun and interesting. For the acting, I think everybody did pretty well. Yoochun has a lot of work to do to make his character become more expressive to the viewers since the character is not expressive in the first place. How he will do it, I'm not sure but what I'm sure of is that's what the viewers will be looking for. For me he's doing ok but yes, that's just me and I'm biased, LOL! XD Park Min Young is so cute and I think she's perfect for the role! ^^ I love Joongki and Ah In too, I love all four of them! =)

[Drama] Oh My Lady

Chae Rim - as Yoon Gae Hwa, a divorced 30-something woman with 1 daughter. She was married to a rich man but got divorced and left with her daughter and no work. She desperately needs a job which made her do everything she can to get super star Sung Min Woo agree to do the musical so that she will get the job in the company.

Chae Rim had been a personal favorite of mine ever since "All About Eve" (the very first Korean drama I've watched) and until now, I still like her. I can't say that she's the best actress there is but her adorable charm and honesty just makes her roles more refreshing to me. Playing an ajumma role seems to be set for her lately and I wouldn't complain because she played it quite well. =) I'm looking forward to seeing her in a sophisticated role, I wonder how she will fare? ^^


Chi Si Won - as Sung Min Woo, the celebrity with super star status solely for his good looks but very minimal talent. Because of his popularity at a young age, he is not mature yet and loves to bask in his popularity. Unknown to him, he had a daughter that his ex-girlfriend just left with him with no words. He is now entangled in a very big scandal if the word about his daughter came out.

It's Siwon's first lead role in a drama and I'd say he did pretty good. The role is perfect for him with his good looks and rich man stature. I don't know why but I can't help but think of Song Seung Hun when I watch Siwon doing Minwoo's character, probably because of the lack of acting skills but good looks. Don't get me wrong, I love Song Seung Hun to bits and he's the man that I would marry in a heartbeat if he asked me to, but I'm not a big fan of his acting but what I love about him is that he works hard. And that's what I see in Minwoo. ^_^


Summary:

Yoon Gae Hwa is a woman with a good heart and good disposition which made her through each day even with no job and have a daughter to take care of. Her determination landed her a job in The Star Company but with condition, to get Sung Min Woo star in their musical to save the company from being bankrupt.

She accidentally met Sung Min Woo is one of her cleaning jobs. So she knows where he lives and tries her best to get him to agree to do the musical. With Min Woo's daughter just coming into the picture out of nowhere, she finally grabbed her chance to twist Minwoo's arms to agree.

With Yoon Gae Hwa's nice personality, Sung Min Woo fell for her unknowingly. Just being by his side day and night, he begin to miss her caring ways. This made him want her to become his daughter's real mother. With his super star status, to be seen him with an ajumma is unheard of so the problem arises.

It's actually a very simple romantic comedy that everyone can just sit back, relax, and enjoy. It's not complicated with really amazing story line, but the characters just fit their roles so well that I get to enjoy every moment of it. So if you're looking for something to enjoy and not to be amazed about, this is the drama for you. =)

"Haru - A One Day Story" Press Conference

This web drama will surely win the hearts of Hallyu fans! ^^ With Yunho, Big Bang, Kim Bum and other hallyu stars, I'm surely looking forward to watching it! =)

On August 26th (Thursday) web drama “Haru ~ a one day story ~” will hold a live broadcast production announcement meeting (press conference). Summary

Kim Hyun Joong Confirmed for Playful Kiss

"Playfull Kiss" is the Korean remake of another Japanese manga, "Itazura na Kiss" (It Started With a Kiss) which just like it's predecessor "Boys Over Flowers" was also a hit drama in Taiwan. I like Kim Hyun Joong (I watched his benefit concert last month here in our country - I'm going to talk about that in another post ^^) but I was thinking DBSK's Changmin would've been a better choice. I know they're both idols and Changmin haven't proven himself yet in any acting job (until Paradise Ranch comes out) but the character somehow fits him perfectly.

I can only wish that Park Shin Hye will get the female lead role. Picking another idol as the female lead will be too risky. It had been proven before that idol fans cannot get the ratings for a drama. It's still the story and acting that keeps the viewers hooked.

Kim Hyun-joong of SS501 has beaten out fellow contenders Jung Yong-hwa and DBSK’s Chang-min for the lead role in Playful Kiss, aka the It Started With a Kiss / Itazura na Kiss remake.

With those options, it seems they were determined to cast an idol-star-turned-newbie-actor, which just confuses me when you’ve got such an open field of talented actors. (Kim Soo-hyun? Ji Chang-wook? Im Joo-hwan?) Aie, what a waste of a director.

According to a rep from Keyeast, Kim’s new management, the contract hasn’t been signed yet, but they’ve made their final decision. The character he plays is “Baek Seung-jo,” who’s the best at everything at his school. There’s nothing he can’t do, and he’s a perfect example of the “eomchinah” — the boy next door all mothers love. He falls for a scatterbrained “Moon Ha-ni,” who has yet to be cast. Top contenders right now are Park Shin-hye, Kara’s Han Seung-yeon, and f(x)’s Sulli. (Man, if they make this an all-idol newbie cast, this may just turn into incredible snark fodder.)

Playful Kiss will air on MBC on Wednesdays and Thursday, and follows the current war drama Road No. 1.

So….. pretty much all of my legitimate interest in this drama is dead. Since the news is apparently final there’s no use crying over it, I suppose, and I’ll try to be open-minded enough to the possibility that Kim has improved since he made his debut role in Boys Before Flowers and murdered the Rui character with his disconnected acting. Hey, Park Shi-yeon started out pretty bad in My Girl and has recently won me over in Coffee House with a much improved performance. (Then again, she has been steadily improving for years, and has taken on many film and drama roles since My Girl five years ago. And even if I can wish for improvement from Kim, I can’t wish him into another person. Booooo.)

Athena: Goddess of War

I'm looking forward to this drama! With the promotional pictures out, it just gets more exciting. They all look badass and I sure hope the drama is a hard core too. ^^

Here we go, first promotional character stills of the cast of Athena. You won’t find the concept that novel if you’re familiar with the look of IRIS’s promotional shots, but it IS interesting to finally get a peek into the spinoff’s world. I actually think IRIS’s promos were better-looking, but for some reason I’m more interested in Athena than I was about IRIS.

First up is Jung Woo-sung, above, who plays a top agent with the National Anti-Terror Service. (IRIS was set amongst the National Security Service, or NSS, while Athena moves to the NTS.) Can I just say that I love that he’s wearing a fancy suit and bowtie like he’s freaking James Bond? I have a feeling Athena’s story may be more out-there than its predecessor, but since it’s hardly realistic either way, I say bring on the antics.

Lee Jung-gil will reprise his role from IRIS as the president Jo Myung-ho, indicating that this series will place a little more focus on the Blue House (Korea’s White House) than the previous series did. (The newly cast Lee Bo-young plays his daughter.)

The drama is a week into production; filming began on June 19. Overseas location shoots will begin in July.

And Lee Jia (Beethoven Virus) rounds out the group of agents. I think (hope) the tough image works much better with her personality than the “girly” one; she was much, much more interesting as tomboyish Sujini in Legend than she was as a shrill fashion assistant in Style.

Shin Min Ah is the 9 Tailed Fox

After all the rumors that came out guessing who will be Lee Seung Gi's leading lady in "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho", the final lady is announced! It's actress Shin Min Ah! I'm happy with the choice because Shin Min Ah is a beautiful actress with a mysterious aura. I'm sure she'll play the role well. =) 2NE1's Sandara Park and Shin Se Kyung were some of the girls that were previously rumored to take on the role.

Shin Se-kyung is out and Shin Mina is in for the upcoming drama My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho. Phew, this drama has undergone a ridiculous amount of casting speculation, rumors, and changes, hasn’t it? Seriously, I’m almost tired about the news and it has barely even begun. (Shin Se-kyung had been reported with the most finality, but that was preceded by a lot of rumors about Sandara Park and Jeon Ji-hyun as well.)

In My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho, Shin Mina plays a gumiho who has been asleep for the past 500 years, who is released when a seal is broken, and a romance ensues with a human played by Lee Seung-ki. The drama may have some competition with Gumiho’s Revenge, which is another gumiho-centered show starring Han Eun-jung that is planning for a broadcast later this summer. However, as the always-hilarious Hong sisters writing pair are behind this drama, I’d expect this one to deliver lots more wacky hijinks (and pop-culture parodies and catchphrases, to boot).

This is Shin Mina’s first drama in three years, since 2007’s thriller series Devil with Uhm Tae-woong and Joo Ji-hoon. Prior to that, she starred with Rain in A Love To Kill in 2005. Although I was perfectly fine with Shin Se-kyung, Shin Mina also fits the part well — though I can’t help but wonder if the pairing will seem too much like a noona with her kid brother. Well, I’ll stay optimistic.

Kim Tae Hee Pairing Up With Song Seung Hun

I'm not a big fan of Kim Tae Hee but she seems to be the "it" girl lately with big name actors as his leading men in different projects. Even if I'm totally in love with Song Seung Hun, I do admit that he's not the best actor Korea has. And with Kim Tae Hee's limited acting abilities too, I can just hope for the best for this drama.

But with all that out, I'm still looking forward to watching this drama for sure! Two of the best looking actors in Korean entertainment together in one drama, how often do you get that? I'm excited to see Song Seung Hun again, I just can't get enough of him can I? ^^

Kim Tae-hee has been cast as Song Seung-heon’s leading lady in the upcoming romantic-comedy drama series My Princess.

Not much has been explained about Song’s character, but Kim plays a lively character who dreamed of being a princess when she was younger, but “returns to reality” and goes back to school as a late university student. The twist? One day she becomes a real princess.

Must… resist… snark… reflex…

Oh, screw it. Now THIS is going to be awesome. By which I mean awesomely entertaining in the so-bad-it’s-good way. Because individually, these are two stars who are known for being as limited as actors as they are gorgeous to look at. (They both remind me of really beautiful robots.) Together they will be blinding with their good looks and, if they’re lucky, might just scrape together enough acting talent for one regular actor. (Okay, that last part might have been a little harsh. They have both had projects where they’ve been decent in the overall scheme of things. But in those examples, they were mostly paired up with or overshadowed by much more talented co-stars and epic storylines. Example: their most recent projects, IRIS and East of Eden.)

On top of that, My Princess comes from writer Kim Eun-sook of the Lovers trilogy, City Hall, and On Air. She’s known for sharp, fast-flying dialogue and lots of banter, which is not an area in which either is particularly gifted.

Still? I’m actually looking forward to this. Either they’ll surprise me and be adorable and funny together, or it will be unintentionally amusing. Win-win?

Kim Tae-hee is currently filming the movie Grand Prix and will begin working on the drama in late August. My Princess is looking at a premiere later this year.

[Drama] Queen Seon Deok

Lee Yeo Won - as Deokman (later to become Queen Seon Deok) is one of the twin daughters of King Jinpyeong. There was a belief during those times that if a royal family give birth to twins, all male descendants will die, but because the King and his wife cannot bear to kill their daughter, she was sent off to hide with the Queen's maid and was asked not to return again. With the turn of events, she found her way back to the kingdom and fought her right to become Queen.

I'm not a big fan of Lee Yeo Won's acting here simply because she has a look too nice to become a queen. I think it's a big challenge for her to try being firm and strong against all the men surrounding her. I don't blame her though because she has soft features that call for sweetness and pureness.

Go Hyun Jung - as Mishil, a very powerful woman of the Kingdom that has served 3 Kings. She's intelligent and very good at making people follow her. But she got caught up with too much power that she didn't know when to stop anymore. She aimed to become the Queen when Deokman came and fought head on with her for the throne.

Go Hyun Jung won daesangs for her portrayal of Mishil and I think that speaks for itself. She used to play sweet roles but transformed into a totally hateful person in this drama. She played her role so well that viewers actually follow what she will do next. She made the character fully alive and carried the whole drama on her shoulders.

Uhm Tae Woong - as Kim Yoo Shin, a very loyal friend and love one of Deokman. He fell in love with Deokman and chose to stay by her side where ever she goes. He later became a general and pledged his full loyalty to Queen Seon Deok. He played a big role in Deokman's success. He's a very disciplined man that is very righteous and only fight for what he believes to be right.

I always admired Uhm Tae Woong as an actor. He plays his roles with so much passion that you can't help but praise his acting. In this drama, he did the same, but he wasn't able to shine as much because Yushin himself has a pretty boring personality unless he's plotting a way to fight the enemies. Though Yushin is actually a very important part of history, sadly he wasn't able to shine as much because of the other quite unique characters in the drama.

Kim Nam Gil - as Bidam, the son of Mishil and the ousted King Jinji. He was left behind by Mishil when he was still a baby when she realized that she has no use for him anymore. He was raised by a previous general from the Kingdom, Munno. Because he grew up as a free spirited person, he doesn't follow any decorum just his own. A skilled fighter that later also became a high ranking official in Queen Seon Deok's reign. He and Deokman fell in love but was separated by too much deceit by other people surrounding them.

This is the first time I saw Kim Nam Gil's work and he's amazing! I now know what's all the fuzz about him when the drama was airing. He has other works before but this drama sure is his break through acting role that shoot him to fame. The role is vibrant and he played it so well that you can't help but love him. I tried looking up old pictures of him but he sure looks his best in this drama. He's simply gorgeous! I don't think there would be any woman that will not fall for his rough but playful character match it with such good looks, wow! (Sorry I know I'm spazzing, but I just can't help it, I'm so in love with Bidam!!! LOL! XD)

Park Ye Jin - as Princess Chun Myung, the other twin daughter of the King. She is set to take the throne but was unexpectedly killed which made Deokman go back to the Kingdom to take her rightful place. She's in love with Kim Yushin who has always been there for her since her childhood.

I've always seen Yejin as savage Yejin in Family Outing. Seeing her here as a princess is totally new to me. She's not exceptional in her portrayal but did quite okay for me. I miss savage lady Yejin and hope to see more of her in the future.

Yoo Seung Ho - as Kim Chun Chu, the son of Princess Chun Myung. He grew up outside the Kingdom but brought back when his mother died. He is perceived to be weak and not worthy of becoming a King, but is very intelligent and fought to get the throne. He later chose to side with Deokman and shared with her victory.

Yoo Seung Ho played younger versions of Kings before, but this time, he's actually playing a King's successor and not just a younger version of them. I was looking forward to watching him and he didn't disappoint. I know he can still do better, but for now, I'm happy with what he can give. He's still young and I still believe that he will become one of the biggest actors in Korea in the future. Surely the next Jang Dong Gun, Song Seung Hun, So Ji Sub on the rise.

Summary:

The drama is set in the Silla dynasty before the 3 great kingdoms of Korea was united. The great King Jin Heung died which shook the whole Kingdom that caused the shift in power. King Jin Heung knew that Mishil is very intelligent but no one can control her when he's gone so he prepared an order to her to be killed. But it didn't happen after his death, instead, Mishil was able to manipulate the whole Kingdom and put a new King of her choosing. Her power reigned until another King was seated and his wife bore a twin, Princess Chun Myung and Deokman.

Deokman was raised by a palace maid and was not aware that she's from a royal family. But fate brought her back to the Kingdom where she met her sister and real parents. She wanted to continue living a normal life until her sister got killed and she chose to fight for her rightful place in the throne to avenge her sister's death.

During her struggle for power with Mishil, she's lucky to have 3 very loyal friends, Kim Yushin, Alcheon and Bidam with her that brought her to victory. But with this power comes the consequence of not finding love. She fell in love twice but has to abandon both for the love of her country. She was first loved by Yushin and she also fell in love with him. They both chose not to pursue their love for the sake of their people and country. She fell in love the 2nd time with Bidam, but with Bidam's complicated life, he was unstable and didn't know who to believe. They ended up fighting with each other resulting to a tragic ending to their love story.

I love the drama! I really did, because with 62 episodes, I watched each episode religiously everyday and that says much. I usually like short dramas better (that's why I love watching Japanese dramas) because they're fast paced and direct to the point. What made me watch all 62 episodes of Queen Seon Deok is because of it's interesting ups and downs and great acting by the cast.

From episode1 up to the middle of the series, no dull moment at all. It has gotten a bit slow in the middle when most of the talking were done to explain different plots and strategies but it's okay. You still will get moments of excitement in every episode that will make you want to continue watching. It's just sad that it has to have a tragic love story ending that makes me so sad. I can't understand why a Queen can't fall in love. =S Though I'm for Deokman-Yushin pairing from the very start, I was also happy when Queen Seon Deok chose to marry Bidam just so she can be happy. But I guess matters of the heart comes second to being a Queen. Anyways, it's still a good drama that is worthy to be watched. =)

Park Yoochun in a Korean Historical Drama

Another drama that I'm looking forward to watching with DBSK's Micky Yoochun, now as an actor. With so many idols going into acting, I sure hope this one will do good in the ratings. =)

Actor Song JoongGi will be working with TVXQ's Micky YooChun.

Song JoongGi has been casted together with Micky YooChun as the main characters for upcoming drama ‘SeongGyunKwan Scandal’.

An official from Lemon Rain revealed on 23rd April, “Song JoongGi and Micky YooChun will be part of the pretty boys quartet in the upcoming drama.”

Historical drama ‘SeongKyunKwan Scandal’ is based off the bestseller novel ‘The Lives of SeongKyunKwan Confucian Scholars’.

The casting for the drama will end within this month and the filming will start next month.

So Ji Sub in Road No. 1

This epic war drama is one that I'm looking forward to watch this 2010. With So Ji Sub, I'm sure it's going to be action packed and dramatic at the same time.

The posters are out for MBC’s epic war drama Road No. 1, starring So Ji-sub and Yoon Kye-sang as soldiers during the Korean War and Kim Haneul as the woman who comes between them.

So Ji-sub plays Jang-woo, “a dramatic and strong character capable of giving up his life for the woman he loves.” That woman is Soo-yeon (Kim Haneul), whom he has known since youth, “and he races onto the hellish battleground to protect her.”

While Soo-yeon puts her faith into waiting for Jang-woo’s return, there’s another man at her side, Tae-ho (Yoon Kye-sang). He falls for her at first sight and eventually they become engaged to marry. He feels deeply betrayed at his fiancee’s reaction when Jang-woo comes back alive from the battlefield, but can’t let her go either. In the end, both men go out to fight during the Korean War. Although Tae-ho is jealous and angry of the love between Jang-woo and Soo-yeon, over the course of the war he develops a close comradeship with Jang-woo.

Road No. 1 will premiere on June 23.

Song Seung Hun is Coming Back!!!

Yes, that's 3 exclamation marks in my title, LOL! XD And that's because I'm so excited that Song Seung Hun is coming back in the small screen with a new drama!!! I read that his role here is more gentle compared to his past roles which had been mostly action packed. Can't wait to see the romantic Seung Hun back. =)

Song Seung-heon has announced his next drama, My Princess (working title). This comes a year after the end of his last drama, East of Eden.

Its scriptwriter Kim Eun-sook is the writer of hit dramas City Hall, On Air, and Lovers In Paris, which already makes this a buzz project. Not much has been identified about the plot (we can guess it’ll start out light and romantic, and ease into the melodramatics in the latter half, if her previous dramas are any indication), but it is planning for an August premiere.

Song Seung-heon is currently working on the remake of A Better Tomorrow (co-starring Joo Jin-mo, Kim Kang-woo, Jo Han-seon), which is slated for a Chuseok holiday release later this fall.

I’m not a fan of all these flippant, generic-sounding titles (Oh My Lady, My Fair Lady) and this one is no different; unless there’s a literal princess involved, it’s not a title that makes much of an impression. That aside, even if I weren’t indifferent to Song Seung-heon, I think the draw here is really the writer. Personally, I haven’t been a great fan of any of her series, but if you have been, this will probably catch your interest.
