[Variety] Come To Play w/ SM Town

It's a Come To Play special from Paris. With the success of SM Town in Paris, they were invited to the show to talk about the popularity of Kpop in Europe. The members that are present are, DBSK's Changmin, Super Junior's Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Yesung and Shindong, SNSD's Sooyoung, Yuri, Hyoyeon and Tiffany, and f(x)'s Sulli and Krystal.

They talk mostly about their trainee days. They revealed that in SM, they train not only in singing and dancing but in other fields as well. They have special sessions for variety and MC skills. They each have secret instructions or words that they cannot say.

When Changmin and Siwon came, they created noise in the company because of their good looks. Everybody are afraid because they are strong rivals. Leeteuk seems to be the senior trainee among all the guests, he saw everyone from the day they came in as trainees.

[Variety] Happy Together S3 - Episode 183

SME came to Happy Together! This have to go to my favorite episodes list, I get to see Yunho and Changmin laughing, Onew is simply amazing in variety and the f(x) girls are cute. ^^ It's such a funny episode with Onew helping in hosting, LOL! XD

They asked f(x) of their first impression of DBSK oppas and who they like best. And Changmin even told his own first impression of Yunho. Jaesuk and Myeongsu get to meet Onew's deadly finger, lol. XD Next they played an image game, where they will all choose the person that best describes what the host says.

[Variety] Strong Heart - Episode 64

I love the way Changmin tells his stories, it's so animated and he's so excited! And I specially love seeing the laughing maknae, just adorable. ^^ He's story is about Yunho and his episodes. He said that Yunho is very similar to Siwon (no wonder I find so much similarity between the two, specially when Yunho had his hair cut short) on how he acts but if Siwon is the major league, Yunho is in the minor league. =P

For Teukigayo, Yunho showed his 4-leaf clover with his tongue, I saw him do 3 before but I guess he upgraded it now to 4, lol! XD And with great dancers on the floor, a dance battle between Eunhyuk, Yunho and Moon Hee Jun can't be denied. Minah with her kkab dance. Lee Jong Suk dancing to Orange Caramel.

Yunho's story is about his grandfather that didn't support his being a singer at the beginning but gave him his support before he died. He promised that he will only cry when he's on top. How he always kept his tears inside for all the hardships that he went through all these years. He's the leader and he can't let his tears show. But because he kept everything bottled up, it's harder for him. He wishes that he can just cry his heart out for once to let it all out.

I can feel the pain of our leader, it's really hard on him specially with the team's break up. He's the leader and he's supposed to keep the team together, but he can't. My heart breaks just thinking how painful it is for him to see his members go. T.T

I didn't know that Yoo Ha Na is the same girl in the drama with my ever favorite Taiwan actor Jimmy Lin!!! I watched My Lucky Star and it's one of my favorite Jimmy Lin dramas but I really didn't recognize her now, she looks different, but still pretty. =)

It's Yunho and Changmin again in a variety show! Yipee! ^^ I love how animated Changmin is while telling his story and how much he laughs whenever somebody said something funny. I love them laughing, smiling and having fun. ~

Yunho talked about how his name got equated as being a good dancer and it's all because of Kang Hodong. From the X-Man days, Hodong always asks him to dance his popping dance and gives great reaction. In this episode, we again get to witness Yunho's dancing skills.

Changmin spilled on how Yunho usually acts when he's playing bowling. Because Yunho knows that he's good at it, he let's everyone know "I'm Jung Yunho" because making a strike. Changmin told this story complete with demostration, LOL! XD

Guests: Yunho and Changmin

The landmark for this episode is Seoul's Art Center. Here hides 2 guests wearing masks that all the members have to find. Yunho and Changmin have to find 4 running balls containing the members' names, and they will be eliminated 2 by 2 until the final ball is found.

2nd game is a drawing relay game where the 1st person will draw and the next person will also draw what he saw until the last person will guess what it is. This is the funniest segment I think because we get to see that Yunho and Joong Ki are humans after all, LOL! XD Last mission is to prepare a musical number and perform without mistake. If they win, no one will get punished even those without running balls.

It's not a really funny mission but we get to see Yunho's leadership skills and he sure is working hard with the choreography. And this is the reason why I love to see DBSK in a variety show, because I get to see those precious smiles that I haven't seen in a long time. Hope to see them more often boys.~

JYJ Featured in Billboard Release of the Week

I'm so proud of these boys! Fighting!

As former members of the South Korean boy band TVXQ, the trio of Kim JaeJoong, Park YuChun and Kim JunSu are no strangers to pop stardom. Formed in 2003, TVXQ became hitmakers at home and in K-pop-crazy Japan (where it was known as Tohoshinki) and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. Following a contractual dispute with its former management company, the threesome formed a new group earlier this year that it christened JYJ after the first initials of their first names. The band's debut album, aptly titled "The Beginning," is out now.

JYJ is thinking big with its debut album, "The Beginning," which features collaborations with Kanye West and songwriter/producer Rodney Jerkins. Show Shop Entertainment released the album Oct. 14 through Warner Music Korea. In the United States, Warner Music is releasing the album digitally through iTunes and Amazon with a CD release planned for late 2010 or early 2011.

ON THE PAGE

"The Beginning" comprises seven tracks and three remixes. Each of the members of JYJ has songwriting credits on the album. Show Shop Entertainment and C-JeS Entertainemnt handles JYJ's publishing, with administration by Warner/Chappell Music Korea.



IN THE STUDIO

JYJ had a wish list of producers and artists it wanted to work with, according to Park: West, Jerkins, Neo and Timbaland. With the help of its manager, Baek Chang Ju, CEO of C-JeS Entertainment, and Show Shop Entertainment CEO Hwang Jong Wook, the group was able to connect with West and Jerkins, who agreed to work with JYJ on "The Beginning."

The sessions for the first single, "Ayyy Girl," produced by West, were held at Westlake Recording Studios in Hollywood, while "Empty" and "Be My Girl," produced by Jerkins, were recorded at his 2nd Floor Studios, also in Hollywood. The rest of the tracks were recorded in South Korea.

West wowed JYJ with some a cappella freestyle rapping before the trio began recording its vocals. "We could see why he's so hugely popular," Park says. "It was really a great honor to work with him."

Jerkins also made a big impression on the Korean trio. "When we were making songs together, he treated us like equals," Park says. "We appreciated that so much. Because he worked so hard on the record, he inspired us to work hard."

Jerkins says he was impressed by JYJ's professionalism and "their poise, the way they took their work seriously. I told their team that I'd work with them again."

IN THE STORES

"The Beginning" arrived Oct. 14 in South Korea, followed by the release of a "luxury edition" with extra content on Oct. 18. The expanded version is limited to a run of fewer than 100,000 units, but Warner Music Korea says it received more than 300,000 pre-sale orders for the set. "The overwhelming response to the [limited-edition] CD is a very encouraging start for JYJ and we hope that this album release will also be met with equal enthusiasm," Warner Music Korea managing director P.R. Wang said in a statement.

Warner Asia's Wong adds: "Warner U.S. will release the product digitally through iTunes first this month. It will also be made available through Amazon digitally. There will also be finished product under the Amazon import section. We are in discussion with Warner U.S. to release a U.S. version in the next few months that will include new tracks and mixes exclusive to the market in both physical and digital formats."

ON THE ROAD

JYJ is playing shows in Bangkok, Thailand; Singapore; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Hong Kong, China; and Taipei, Taiwan; in October. The group "also will be touring four major cities in the U.S. in November to support the release in a series of meet-the-fan sessions, plus a few media appearances," Wong says. "Once the U.S. release [plans for the physical album] has been decided, we hope to reach a much bigger market for JYJ, as the market for Asian acts who sing in English is growing rapidly."

JYJ - The Beginning Album

With the album selling more than 500,000 copies in pre-orders, I can't wait for it to be released worldwide and get the official sales figures. =) I've been listening to the album non-stop and I just fall for the songs more and more.

I am surprised the first time I listened to the album, it doesn't sound like TVXQ or any Kpop at that. So this really is a world album, so this is what's "The Beginning" means, it's the start of something totally new. It's not the usual genre that TVXQ used to sing at all. I was caught off guard but I eventually appreciated the songs as I listen to them more. And now, I just can't stop listening to them anymore! I'm totally addicted!!! ^^

- Now SM are you listening?! =P It's a good fast beat song, something you can dance to in any club.

- My favorite group song from the album! I love the smooth sound of the song together with JYJ's voices. Is it R&B? I don't know how to differentiate the song genres anymore, LOL! =P

5. Still in Love (Composed by Hero Jae-joong / Lyrics by Kyoko Hamler)
- Jae's solo and it sounds so Jaejoong. A ballad for that angelic voice he has. =)

6. I Can Soar (Composed by Xiah Jun-su / Lyrics by Kyoko Hamler)
- Yes, it's Junsu to talk about reaching it higher. He just pushes himself more and more and he just accomplished something again this time, putting his Engrish to a minimal. ^^

7. I Love You_Feat. Flowsik (Composed by Micky Yu-cheon / Lyrics by Kyoko Hamler)
- This is another favorite of mine from the album! I totally fall in love with this song the time I listened to it. And yes, it's so Yoochun, smooth and dripping with cheese, lol! XD I'm surprised that Chunnie actually used a higher pitched voice, much higher than he usually to sings with. Love it! ^_^

8. Be The One (Composed by Jae Chong / Lyrics by Jae Chong, Terry Shorter, Kyoko Hamler)
- Another dance song. It's my least favorite among the other dance songs though. But still, not bad.

Not a big fan of the remixes so I won't be saying anything about them. Empty Remix is pretty good but I still like the original. JYJ Worldwide Concert!!!

I'm truly waiting for the day that I will be able to watch all 5 (or just any 1, 2, 3, or 4 for the mean time) of the talented DBSK boys perform live on stage. Wishing and hoping that day will be coming soon! =)

JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu) will hold their Worldwide Concert ‘JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul’ for two days on November 27 and 28 at Jamsil Stadium.

JYJ representative on the 18th revealed, “The concert will be under direction of Jeri Slaughter who formerly directed concerts of world’s top pop artists such as Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, and Christina Aguilera. A world-class live performance South Korea has never experienced will exist through JYJ’s concert.”

Currently there are six countries and nine cities expanded from JYJ World Tour showcases and about 18 songs will be presented on the concert stage, members’ unreleased self composed songs will be revealing live as well. The concert will use special color laser device called Phenon, recognized as world’s first real-time video technology with interactive media digital operation.

JYJ on last 12th opened the showcase for their global album in which world-class artists namely Kanye West and Rodney ‘Dark Child’ Jerkins participated, double title song in the worldwide album ‘Ayyy Girl’ and ‘Empty’ together with other tracklist were unveiled to South Korea fans. The showcase received favorable reviews for brilliant and stable live stage performance.

Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu said “We finished the local showcase in great success due to fans’ supports that leads us to gain more courage and self confidence. Although the schedule is tight, but we’re commited to continue going forward for a successful world stage each and every day”

Meanwhile, ‘JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul’ will open the ticket sales on the 19th at 20:00 through Interpark website.

The Beginning of JYJ

The teaser is out in JYJ's official site http://www.jyj3.com/ and everybody's clearly excited because the tickets were sold out in 15 minutes! The tickets in Korea are so cheap!!! I wish I can go there to watch. ~.~ I'm still hoping and wishing that they will come to my country! ~

The Seoul leg of JYJ‘s 10-city world tour was announced merely days ago, but that didn’t prevent fans from clawing their way to purchase tickets for the concert.

Tickets for both the 6PM and 9PM performances at Korea University’s Hwajeong Tiger Dome were sold out within 15 minutes after they were available for purchase. According to ticket vender employees, “Fans inquiries were overcrowded before the tickets were available, and as soon as tickets were available, there was an unprecedented struggle for tickets.”

Needless to say, I am now legitimately terrified to buy my tickets to the New York showcase.

Speaking of JYJ’s US performances, many fans have been left in mystery in regards to ticket information for JYJ’s American and Hong Kong concerts. The concert coordinator recently released the following press announcement regarding ticket sales for all venues:

JYJ Joined East Asia Management

Wow! These 3 is unstoppable! First they got themselves a new PR company to manage their images, then an upcoming entertainment label to be announced for their Korean comeback, and now another new company to handle their Chinese promotions! And one of the biggest at that, with Andy Lau, Sammy Cheng, etc. in their slate, that's just wow! =)

Top Asian idols Kim Junsu, Park Yoochun & Kim Jaejoong have officially announced that they will be joining East Asia Entertainment Limited to expand their performing careers in China. East Asia Ent expressed that they are honoured to be working with such phenomenal Korean stars. The trio will be promoting in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and besides collaborations in album distribution, East Asian Ent also has plans in other endeavors such as concerts, commercials, movies and television dramas etc.

East Asia Entertainment is a media and cultural entertainment agency, and big names under their label include Andy Lau, Leon Lai, Daniel Wu, Sammi Cheng, Miriam Yeung, Denise Ho, Han Hong, Richie Ren etc. The company manages over 50 singers, actors and actresses, and is one of the biggest and most established concert organizers in Asia, responsible for producing over 1000 concerts and shows over the years. Productions of their sister company, Media Asia Group, include the 'Infernal Affairs' Trilogy, 'The Warlords', 'Initial D' etc. Having produced several hundreds of successful films, they are one of Asia's largest film companies.

The collaboration between such a prestigious company and such popular super stars will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with. According to the two parties, the trio's first appearance as East Asia Ent artists will be at the East Asia Feiyang Concert on October 23rd in Hongkou Stadium, Shanghai. Kim Junsu, Park Yoochun and Kim Jaejoong have confirmed that they will be performing, and East Asia Ent are honoured to be working with the three. They will be meeting their fans as a three-member unit at the event.

"Haru - A One Day Story" Press Conference

This web drama will surely win the hearts of Hallyu fans! ^^ With Yunho, Big Bang, Kim Bum and other hallyu stars, I'm surely looking forward to watching it! =)

On August 26th (Thursday) web drama “Haru ~ a one day story ~” will hold a live broadcast production announcement meeting (press conference). On the day, four stars appear in the drama Yunho, Han Chae Young, Park Shi Hoo, and Kim Bum will attend, speaking about the working enthusiasm and beauty of South Korea!

What is web drama “Haru ~ a one day story ~”?

At late September, “2010 Korea Tourism Organization Interactive Campaign Sight” will deliver “Haru ~ a one day story ~”, a web drama consists of 6 groups scenario with 10 Hallyu stars acting in them, through its story, the web drama will tell viewers even more about South Korea. All 6 stories will encounter at one important point, having an unforgettable “day” that is framed with beautiful scenery. “Haru” means “Day” in Korean.

Summary

The story will center around scenario writer Lee Da Hae as the main focus.
Lee Da Hae, Yunho, and Kim Bum will form a triangle, then the protagonist characters in Da Hee’s scenario Han Chae Young and Park Shi Hoo, also BIGBANG’s story about how they branch toward mountains to keep promises to their fans, all the stories will revolve around in one day time.

JYJ Mini Album Info

This is still bitter sweet for me. I'm happy that everyone is moving on, but I'm still sad that DBSK coming back together is becoming bleaker. =S

Rhythm Zone’s official JYJ Website has released some information pertaining to the JYJ (Jaejoong Yoochun Junsu) upcoming mini album.

This new album will be titled, 「The…」 (yes, The…), and is scheduled for release on September 8th. JaeJoong Will Become a Successful Actor

Jaejoong is part of a currently airing Japanese Drama and I'm happy that he's getting good reviews coming from the writer herself. =) Hope Yoochun will do well in his drama too!

A Japanese drama writer praised Korean actor Young Woong Jaejoong, who is now acting in the Japanese TV drama "I Can't Be Honest."

According to a person at Image Factory, which is an importer of the movie “Halfway,” Kitagawa Eriko, who is a writer for the drama “I Can’t Be Honest,” sent a letter to the film company saying, “I strongly believe that Young Woong Jaejoong will establish his foundation as an actor by appearing in the drama ‘I Can’t Be Honest.’”

Kitagawa is a famous writer as she has written successful dramas including “I Can’t Be Honest” and “One Million Stars Falling from the Sky,” and she also debuted as a movie director with “Halfway,” which was released in Korea last month.

Kitagawa continued to say in the letter, “Jaejoong is transcending national boundaries by acting in the Japanese drama 'I Can’t Be Honest.' I am enjoying working with him.”

The drama “I Can’t Be Honest” began airing from April 15 on Fuji TV and it portrays stories of love and friendship between a man and a woman who became friends through Twitter. Young Woong Jaejoong is playing a Korean man who works at a medical instrument company in Tokyo and he appears in the drama together with star Japanese actors including Ueno Juri, Nagayama Eita, and Tamayama Tetsuji.

The Movie “Halfway,” which was released on April 29 in Korea, tells stories of teenagers utilizing beautiful scenes and the director, Iwai Shunji--who made “Love Letter”--produced the movie.

Junsu To Sing for Yoochun's Japan Drama

YooJaeChun sure are getting active in Japan while HoMin are busy in Korea. Junsu will be singing the theme song for Yoochun's acting debut. It's nice to see them helping each other out at all times. =)

Xiah Junsu, who is a member of Dong Bang Shin Ki which recently suspended its activities as a group, sang the theme song for a drama that another member, Micky Yoochun, appears in as a main character.

The newspaper Sankei Sports delivered the news on April 28 that Micky Yoochun will debut as an actor in the mobile broadcasting company Bee TV’s new drama “Beautiful Love - if you are by my side” and that he will act speaking in Japanese. Also, it added that songs by Xiah Junsu, who debuted as a solo singer, were chosen as the theme song for the drama as well as background music.

The drama “Beautiful Love - if you are by my side” is scheduled to air from June 4, which is Michky Yoochun’s birthday, and it will tell the love story between an offspring of a Korean chaebol and a magazine copy writer who wants to be a novel writer. The female lead will be played by Japanese teenage star Omasa Aya (19).

The producer of Micky Yoochun’s debut drama, Azuma Yasuyuki, explained the casting and continued to praise Micky Yoochun, saying, “I could sense that Mick Yoochun would be a new star as an actor when I saw that he had concentrated on his acting. I fell in love with him as an actor and I personally wish that he will appear in Japanese dramas continuously.”

Micky Yoochun, who made his first attempt at acting, said, “It was very difficult, but, at the same time, it was a very pleasant experience. It is amazing that I can have a different life and experience another person’s life while I act. I was impressed.” Also, he revealed his strong ambition towards both acting and singing by saying, “I want to act again, but I also want to sing again as soon as possible.”

Xiah Junsu, who will release his single album entitled “XIAH” on May 26, sang the theme song “If you are by my side - Beautiful Love” and the background song “Intoxication,” which are included in the single album. Xiah Junsu delivered a cheerful message, saying, “Since Micky Yoochun is cast as the main actor and also because the storyline of the drama is very nice, I did my best to sing these songs to brighten up the mood of the drama.”

Park Yoochun in a Korean Historical Drama

Another drama that I'm looking forward to watching with DBSK's Micky Yoochun, now as an actor. With so many idols going into acting, I sure hope this one will do good in the ratings. =)

Actor Song JoongGi will be working with TVXQ's Micky YooChun.

Song JoongGi has been casted together with Micky YooChun as the main characters for upcoming drama ‘SeongGyunKwan Scandal’.

An official from Lemon Rain revealed on 23rd April, “Song JoongGi and Micky YooChun will be part of the pretty boys quartet in the upcoming drama.”

Historical drama ‘SeongKyunKwan Scandal’ is based off the bestseller novel ‘The Lives of SeongKyunKwan Confucian Scholars’.

The casting for the drama will end within this month and the filming will start next month.
