[Variety] Dream Team - King of Kings

I'm really looking forward to this episode! Though Ricky clearly mastered the obstacle course with 14 entries in the hall of fame, I'm hoping that I'll be surprised by the final winner. =)

15 warriors who won in the previous dream team race are all here to compete for the King of Kings. They are Kim Byeongman, Ricky Kim, Kim Insu, Lee Boonghwan, Mun Junyeong, Sangchu, Lee Sangho, Lee Jongmin, Chansung, Chae Jongkuk, Park Jaemin, Lee Hyeon, Yang Dongkwon, Jeong Sanghui, Minho. The final winner will take home a brand new car! ^^

Kara came to cheer on the challengers and boost their energy. They played a couple game with Kara for the warm up game. The couple will play a game of throwing water balloons, the team with the most balloons wins.

The challengers are given 2 chances to finish the race. The 5 to finish with the shortest time will move on to the finals. The obstacle game consists of 6 obstacles. 1st obstacle is cylinder foot bridge, 2nd is relay rotating stick, 3rd is submerging rotating stick, 4th is four spinning pinwheels, 5th is cowboy spinning discuss jump, and 6th is three piece rotating bridge.

[Variety] Immortal Song 2 - Episode 3

Challengers: Yesung, Changmin, Hyorin, Jonghyun, Yoseob, Ji Eun.

Idols are singing the legend, Boohwal. Even the people that helped the idols arrange the songs they're going to sing are present to watch them sing. Boohwal songs are more rock so I'm wondering if they will like their songs arranged differently. =)

Yang Yoseob is the first to sing with his chosen song, "Huiya" arranged to be more emotional with guitar accompaniment. It sounds like a bossa nova version and I personally love it. =)

2nd singer is Song Ji Eun to sing "Reminiscence III" which was a last minute change because the first song she chose just doesn't work for her. The arrangement is too slow for my taste but Jieun sang it really beautifully.

3rd singer is Yesung to sing "The More I Love You". He looks so pale and nervous when he started singing but made an amazing ending.

4th singer is Hyorin with the same song as Yoseob, "Huiya" but hers is a rock ballad version. I'm not a big rock fan but I enjoyed her performance specially near the end where she went more rock than ballad. It's here that she got the label of "Korea's Beyonce". ^^

Changmin is the 5th singer to sing "Never Ending Story" in jazz version. He sang it so lightly and relaxed, I love these type of songs! =) He even added a rap, and as he said, it's more for himself because he wanted to try something he haven't tried before. ^^

Final singer is Jonghyun who got 1st in the preliminaries. He's singing "Lonely Night" in original rock version but I think he lowered the key a bit because the original is pretty painful on the vocal chords.

I agree with what they said, this show sure erases the bias people have against idol singers. And I'm happy that through this show, the general audience get to see that within each idol group, there's a great vocalist that works hard on their singing. ^_^

Due to her busy schedule, IU left the show. As Kim Gura said, there's actually no elimination in the show, the challengers can continue on as long as they can. When they've become too busy with other schedules, a new challenger will come in to take their place. This time, it's Secret's Song Ji Eun.



The song they will sing this time is "The Song of My Life", it's the song that gave them strength during their trainee years. The person with the highest score in the 1st competition can choose when he/she will sing on the 2nd competition.



The legend they're singing this time is Boohwal.

Variety] Immortal Song 2 - Episode 1

This show started airing last June. I didn't watch it much before but when they started to add new singers and even guests, I think it had become more interesting. =)

Singers: IU, Yesung, Changmin, Hyorin, Jonghyun, Yoseob.

They started with 6 idols that will compete against each other. The show is trying to show the viewers that idols are good singers too and can challenge singing songs of the legends. Their first challenge is to sing the song that inspired them to become a singer.

While one is singing, the others will be in the room watching and give scores. The final result will be determined by the total of all their votes. The winner will be given the priority to choose the legend's song they want to sing. Everyone did great, they are called their groups' vocalists for a reason. =)

After the first competition, they're introduced to the first legend they are going to sing, singer-song writer, Sim Soo Bong. For the main competition, the 200 people from the audience will be their judge, including Wheesung and Lyn.

I love the show's closing, it's what I loved about Invincible Youth too. =)

[Variety] Dream Team - Asian Stars Special Part 2

Dream Team: Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Shindong, Minho, Taemin, Jungmo

The Asian stars are facing the idol hallyu stars from Super Junior, Shinee and Trax. For the pre-game, they played a match making game. Since dream team are all boys, there are more boys than girls so they all compete for the girls' affection.

For the main game, only the boys are playing against each other. I was surprised to see Taemin do so well, he's thin but so light on his feet. This made Minho more determined to win. Will the Asian stars be able to win against dream team's ace?

Se7en talked about his almost team up with Rain before debut. If that pushed through, they would've made a super star team together! Those two were like the gods of kpop in those days. JYP and YG decided to have a dance battle to see how the other fare. And both bosses chose their own as the winner, LOL! XD

Minho talked about his father, a national football player in Korea. Now I understand why Minho is so competitive specially in sports events, he just won't lose without a fight. His father didn't support his dream to become a football player like him. Now he realized that it's because he wants his son to make a name for himself. =)

Key talked about his grandmother that took care of him since birth. He's regretful that he didn't treat her better when he was young. He kept a note his grandmother wrote for him when he went to Seoul to become a trainee, and that note gave him strength up to this day.

This was aired during Se7en's comeback. And because he had been out of Korea for a long time, he was surprised by the change in variety shows. He talked about his collaboration with Top, and the episode that happened when they were performing on stage. ^^ He also talked about his 8 years relationship with Park Han Byul.

Minho going on about Kang Hodong telling him that he can replace Seunggi in the future. He even said that Leeteuk taught him some variety show skills since he's the leader of Tuekigayo. ^^ While Key talked about being thankful to fans who praised their live singing through MR videos. But he's sad that fans are actually doubtful of their singing skills and wish they will just enjoy the performance since people have different voice ranges.

For the tests, they still have the Korean song quiz. Next mission is to have the other team say their mission words. And finally, the last game is to shoot the ring in a spinning pole. The team that gets most will win. The penalty for the losing team is to get hit by Onew's feared finger flick.

They asked f(x) of their first impression of DBSK oppas and who they like best. And Changmin even told his own first impression of Yunho. Jaesuk and Myeongsu get to meet Onew's deadly finger, lol. XD Next they played an image game, where they will all choose the person that best describes what the host says.

Lee Jun's mom is funny and pretty cool. I think that's where Lee Joon got his free spirit self. Min's grandma made her second appearance on the show. She knows Min's song and even the dance step! =)

It's the 2nd part of 1st generation idols special. They played a game on image. The juniors will pick who among the seniors they think best fits the description. The juniors also get a chance to ask questions from their seniors about groups and career. I love the advices that the sunbaes gave the hoobaes, it shows how matured they are now and working in the music industry for years made them a better artist now.

I specially like the one that Dongwan said about boy/girl groups, everyone should be thankful when one member becomes popular because she brings the whole team up. They should help each other push each other up and help the whole group in the process. And Jiwon's closing remarks on how he's so happy to be together with a previous rival (Tony) in the same program and become closer now that they're older. My chodings and dorks are now grown men, and I'm just so proud of them. =)

Though nobody looks really that different without make-up, but it's clear that make-up does create wonders for these celebrities. It made them look more like stars than their normal faces. =)

[Variety] Dream Team - Saipan Special Part 1

They are divided into two teams. The winner will receive a very nice reward while the losing team will suffer a difficult consequence. First game is puzzle game. 4 members of each team will kayak their way to the sea and pick up their puzzle pieces. They will kayak back to shore and complete their puzzle. The winning team will get a delicious lunch while the losing team will have to fend for themselves.

Second game is a pushing game. The losing team will have to sleep in a tent for the night. I feel bad for Jinon because he is a bit dumb and immature but that's because he's young and still have a lot to learn. But he's learning it the hard way in the show. =S

Upon getting to their base camp, they ate, after that, the game starts. Each team will hide a member of the other team. Both teams have to find their missing member.

It's their Christmas special and they invited friends over to spend the day with. Heechul came first and he's like friends to almost all of the boys, lol! XD Other friends that came were Key, Ryeowook, Sangchu, etc.

Heechul talked about the group they had called Psycho for AB blood type members. They played a game where one says something that he wanted the other to change, the other person must say he will fix it, if not he loses. Heechul definitely is the man for this game, nobody can beat him, LOL! A really funny episode that is so worth watching! ^_^

SBS King of Idols Special

It's SBS Lunar Year Special "King of Idols" where 18 idols were gathered in Pattaya to see who will be the King and Queen.

The male idols are Nichkhun, Chansung, Jinwoon, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Seungri, Minho, Onew, Jungmin. The female idols are Hara, Seungyeon, Krystal, Hyomin, Hyunah, Uee, Lizzy, Seonhwa, Hyorim.

They made the show similar to X-man from the past where they go to a vacation place and played games and pair up with each other.
